Baker receives National Council of State Boards of Nursing appointment
The IRE committee selects candidates for NCSBN’s IRE Fellowship program and oversees their four-year course of study. This four-year comprehensive professional development program develops experts in specific realms of regulation, and is designed for regulators who want to enhance their knowledge and leadership in nursing regulation. It enhances development in public policy, discipline, competency and leadership for participants who are involved in nursing regulation as a board member or staff and who have masters or doctoral degrees.
The IRE Fellowship program currently has approximately 35 participants in the United States and Canada.
Baker is also currently serving the third year of a four-year appointment on the Alabama Board of Nursing (ABN) and was elected ABN vice president for the 2017 calendar year.
Baker is a three-time graduate of the UAB School of Nursing, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1985, her Master of Science in Nursing degree in 1990 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2010.
