Alumna Norman named to Nemours Foundation Board of Directors
University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing Alumna Linda Norman, DSN, RN, FAAN, has been selected as one of four new members on The Nemours Foundation Board of Directors, a nonprofit children’s health organization that has grown to become one of the nation’s largest integrated pediatric health systems.
Norman is dean of the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, Tennessee, and is also the Valere Potter Menefee Chair in Nursing. She earned her Doctor of Science in Nursing (DSN) from the UAB School of Nursing in 2001.
Norman is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in nursing and health profession education. She has actively sought strategies to diminish the nursing shortage and has served on the two-person national evaluation team for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Partner’s Investing in Nursing’s Future program.
Norman has also been involved with the Institute of Healthcare Improvement and has served on the boards of Span American Medical Systems and Alive Hospice and Renewal House.
