Jain awarded plenary presentation in hepatobiliary tract diseases at SSAT 2025
UAB General Surgery research resident Tejeshwar Jain, M.D., was recognized for his project, "Targeting the gut microbiome improves anti-tumor cytotoxic CD8 T-cell response against hepatocellular carcinoma," which was nominated as one of the best hepatobiliary tract abstracts and will be presented at the plenary session at the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT).

Beck and Sickels publish surprising findings on spinal drain usage and effects
Adam Beck, M.D., Holt A. McDowell Jr., M.D., Endowed Chair of Vascular Surgery at UAB and UAB Vascular Surgery Integrated Resident, Angela Sickels, M.D., aimed to determine what part of the population benefited from prophylactic drains.
