Clinical Study for Patients with Dry Eye Associated with Sjögren’s Disease. If you are an adult with Dry Eye Disease associated with Sjögren’s, you may be eligible to take part in a clinical research study being conducted by Sylentis S.A.U. The purpose is to compare the study eye drop to placebo (eyedrop without medication) in treating the signs and symptoms of Dry Eye associated with Sjögren’s.

You may be eligible to take part in the SYL1001_V Study if:
• You are 18 years or older
• You have a diagnosis of Sjögren’s
• Other entry criteria apply and your eligibility will be determined by
the study staff


If you decide to take part in the study, your participation could last approximately 3.5 months and consist of 5 to 6 visits to the study center. You will be reimbursed for each completed visit.
Are you a caregiver? Do you know someone that is a caregiver? Would you like to earn $20? If so, the Caring for Adults with Difficulties Study (CFAD) needs you! This study examines stressors of caregivers to aging adults, their social support networks, caregiving demands, and personal experiences. To be eligible, you must care for a family member or friend at least 5 hours per week. You must also complete a 45 minute survey online or over the phone. The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Department of Family and Community Medicine, is conducting a 12-month research study to test the effectiveness of a diabetes management intervention. If you have type 2 diabetes, are 18 years or older, and self-identify as Black or African American, you may be eligible to participate. Participants will be compensated up to $300 for completing the study.

We are looking for individuals to participate in a study that looks at the relationship between endorphins in plasma and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) associated chronic pain. To participate in this study we are looking for people with or without HIV between the ages of 19 and 64 years old, free from serious medical conditions, and able to come to two testing sessions one week apart. Participants will receive up to $200 for completing the study. You may not be eligible to participate if you have significant health problems, are pregnant, or are taking certain medications. Help us find out by joining our study at UAB. You may be eligible to participate in the PRECISION-BP research study about the effects of Sacubitril/Valsartan or Valsartan on your body’s 24-hour rhythm of a hormone in your blood called natriuretic peptides. This hormone and the study medications are related to the heart. Eligible participants must have a BMI: 30-45 kg/m2), have high blood pressure, and have no history of heart or kidney problems. The study involves wearing a blood pressure monitor for 24 hours, 24-hour inpatient visits at UAB hospital, taking medications, and collecting blood and urine samples. Meals will be provided at no cost. Participants will be compensated $575 for completing the study visits.
