Maegan Guven, MS, RD

Maegan is a Registered Dietician who specializes in pediatric nutrition therapy for babies at the Newborn Follow-Up Clinic.  Maegan obtained her Bachelor's Degree at Auburn University.  She also completed an Early Intervention Training Program at Auburn University Graduate School.  Maegan completed her dietetic internship at Winthrop University in South Carolina. She went on to receive her Master's in Nutrition at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she completed a pediatric nutrition traineeship at Sparks Center.  She has worked in specialty clinics at St. Louis Children's Hospital and Children's of Alabama.

Margaret Summersell, MS, RD

Margaret Summersell, MS, RD

Registered Dietician who specializes in providing pediatric nutrition support to premature children and special needs children. Margaret completed her undergraduate degree at Auburn University and went on to do an internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She returned to the Sparks Clinic in Birmingham to complete a pediatric traineeship and obtain a Master’s Degree from the School of Nutrition Sciences at UAB. At that time, Margaret began working with the Newborn Follow Up Clinic and developed a special interest in providing pediatric nutrition support to premature children and special needs children.

Sheree York, MS, PT, PCS

Sheree York, MS, PT, PCS

Physical Therapist who specializes in developmentally delayed children and is the Director of Physical and Occupational Therapy and Early Intervention at The Children’s Hospital of Alabama. Sheree has been with the Newborn Follow Up Clinic since February of 2006. She has worked with newborn and high risk follow up for about 25 years. In addition, Sheree is involved in national pediatric physical therapy organizations.

Chantel M. Jones, PT, DPT

Chantel M. Jones, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist who specializes in pediatrics and sees children with developmental delays and/or movement disorders for Children’s of Alabama Physical and Occupational Therapy Department and the Children’s Early Intervention Program.  Chantel also provides pediatric physical therapy services to the Down Syndrome Clinic at Children’s of Alabama and the Children’s Center for Weight Management.   Chantel obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2007 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association.  She has worked with the Newborn Follow-Up Clinic since 2008.

After working as an audiologist for a private Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic in Georgia and an audiologist at the Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, Julie moved to Birmingham in June 2000 and began her tenure at UAB's Civitan Sparks Clinics. Julie has a Bachelor's of Science and Education from the University of Georgia (1993), a Master of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of South Alabama (1995), and a Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida (2000). Her main areas of interest include early identification of hearing loss and auditory brainstem response testing.

Ashley Campbell, AuD, CCC-A

Ashley Campbell, AuD, CCC-A

Ashley is a pediatric audiologist who provides hearing evaluations and treatment for the Newborn Follow Up Clinic and for the UAB Sparks Clinics. Dr. Ashley Campbell completed her undergraduate and graduate degree at the University of Southern Mississippi. Ashley completed her fourth year externship at Magnolia Speech School in Mississippi where she developed particular interests in pediatric hearing loss, pediatric amplification, and auditory processing disorder. Ashley has been involved with the Newborn Follow Up Clinic since 2011.
