Committed to offering world-class pediatric health services in an environment that fosters innovative research, excellence in medical education, and access to leading-edge treatments for pediatric illnesses and injuries
The UAB Department of Pediatrics clinical services are provided at Children’s of Alabama. Children’s of Alabama is a private, not-for-profit medical center that also serves as the primary site of the UAB pediatric medicine, surgery, research and residency programs. For more than 50 years, the partnership between UAB and Children’s has provided outstanding care to the youngest, most vulnerable patients and established Birmingham as a nationally renowned center for pediatric medicine.
Each year, Department faculty and Children's of Alabama provide specialized medical care for ill and injured children offering inpatient and outpatient services throughout Alabama. With more than 2 million square feet, the newly expanded Children's Hospital is the third largest pediatric medical facility in the U.S. and has consistently been ranked among the top children's hospitals in the country by US News & World Report.
