General Application Information
In general, all programs will have two parts to the application:
- UAB Online Application
- Program Application (Affiliate partner or exchange institution)
UAB Online Application
UAB applications vary by program but may include:
- Waiver and Release Agreement for Education Abroad
- $125 Non-Refundable Online Administrative Fee
- Statement of Behavioral Responsibility
- Credit Articulation Form

Eligibility Requirements
Students who wish to participate in semester-long, summer, or internship opportunities must have a cumulative 2.5 GPA and 30 credit hours earned before studying abroad. Students wishing to participate in faculty-led programs must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students who do not meet these eligibility requirements may submit an appeal through the Academic Appeals Process.
Students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing to participate in international education opportunities.
Some programs may have additional eligibility requirements, such as GPA, course prerequisites, language requirement, etc. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance to the program.
Additionally, the University reserves the right to revoke acceptance at any time.
