Dr. Crowe is a licensed clinical psychologist with specialization in geropsychology and neuropsychology. His research is centered on cognitive and mental health during older adulthood, with an emphasis on modifiable risk and protective factors for cognitive decline and dementia.

Dr. Crowe has led a number of investigations focused on cognitive aging outcomes in relation to factors such as leisure activity and environmental complexity, indicators of stress, quantity and quality of education, and health conditions such as diabetes. In much of his recent work, he has focused on cognitive and mental health outcomes in populations with known disparities, older African American and Hispanic adults.

He is currently the Principal Investigator for a five-year project in Puerto Rico and serves as a co-leader for the Research Education Core of the Deep South Resource Center for Minority Aging Research (RCMAR).
