Healthy Children, Adolescents, and Teens Aged 2-17 Years Old Needed for a Catch-Up Pneumonia Vaccine Study
This study is looking for healthy children and adolescents, ages 2 to 17 years old that are interested in getting a pneumonia vaccine. Most children get a pneumonia vaccine in the first year of life. This research study will be testing a new version of the pneumonia vaccine that is designed to protect your child against additional strains of pneumonia. This means your child will receive one dose of the updated version of the vaccine, PCV21, or your child will receive PCV20, the currently administered pneumonia vaccine in the U.S. You will be expected to accompany your child for 2 clinic visits that will include your child’s vaccine injection and 2 blood draws. You must complete two telephone visits as well. The study duration is 6 months. Your child may qualify for enrollment if they are healthy and are ages 7 months to 23 months, but have never had a pneumonia vaccine. Compensation will be provided. New Mental Health Fellow Facilitator track open to employees
Completing mental health training is a great way for staff, faculty and students at UAB and UAB Medicine to share a culture of care and thriving. The UAB Enterprise Mental Health Advocate Program, recently introduced a new learning track to its lineup.

The study involves consuming prepared meals, performing exercise on a treadmill, undergoing a glucose test, and collecting blood, urine samples, and collection of genetic information. ADAPT: A Clinical Trial of Adaptive Treatment for Early Smoking Cessation Relapse
Opportunity to quit smoking cigarettes. Fully remote surveys.
If you smoke cigarettes every day, you may be eligible for a research study with the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The research study involves initial online screening, 8 contacts over 6 months and a chance to try varenicline, a prescription smoking cessation medication, or nicotine patches and lozenges. Day or Night? When is the best time to take your blood pressure medicine
Participate in the PRECISION-BP research study investigating the best time to take blood pressure medication, morning or evening. This study participants will receive blood pressure medications for 28 days. Eligible participants must be obese (BMI: 30-45 kg/m2) men and women, have high blood pressure, and have no history of heart or kidney problems. The study involves wearing a blood pressure monitor for 24 hours, 24-hour inpatient visits at UAB Hospital, taking medications, and collecting blood and urine samples. Meals will be provided at no cost. Participants will be compensated $575 for completing the study visits.
