“Participating in the Staff Council is such a rewarding experience,” said David Rhodes, chair of the council. “By coming together to advance the UAB mission, advocate on behalf of all staff members and promote a sense of community on campus, the council wants to work to make UAB an even better place to work.”

Nominations were accepted March 19-30. The two candidates per unit that receive the most votes will become the new representatives; the next two candidates with the most votes will become alternates. All representatives will serve a two-year term that begins in August and ends in July 2020.
Formed in 2016, the Staff Council is an engaged campus organization that represents 22 organizational units and is dedicated to promoting an exchange of ideas among its members, the campus community and the UAB administration. It was formed to be a voice to those who comprise a majority of UAB’s employees by providing advice and recommendations to university administration and leaders.
