Our goal is to enhance personal growth and the strength of our medical community by helping residents and fellows identify and overcome barriers to success.

Second Look

One of the many ways the Heersink School of Medicine Office of Access & Engagement strives to attract talented residents to UAB is by annually hosting Second Look. This event invites prospective trainees to join their respective departments and engage with current UAB residents, faculty, and staff.

The two-day event includes multiple sessions designed to help students gain a better understanding of UAB’s resources, opportunities, and world-class facilities, as well as offer a glimpse of life in Birmingham. One highlight of the event is a Grand Rounds lecture from a prestigious community member.
