Students interested in making a positive impact in a community abroad may be interested in international service-learning opportunities. These opportunities merge community-based learning and civic responsibility through international service opportunities. Students have the opportunity to make a positive impact by utilizing their personal strengths while working with a non-profit, governmental or non-governmental organization. Students participating in service-learning opportunities with affiliate providers, such as International Studies Abroad, will follow a structured, reflection-based curriculum and may have the opportunity to receive direct UAB credit or an official transcript from their provider to articulate back to UAB.
