University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing Assistant Professor Jeremy Jordan, PhD, CRNP, CPNP-AC, CCRN, CNE (MSN 2014, PhD 2021), has developed and is co-hosting a podcast series with the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. The 10-episode series, called Team Peds Talks: The Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioners’ Impact, launched in September 2022.
The podcast series focuses on the unique role and impact that acute care PNPs have within a wide variety of settings, from the history of the ACPNP to the future of the specialty. Additional episodes include interviews with PNPs in education, research, service, leadership and clinical practice.
“I am honored to share the life-changing work that acute care pediatric nurse practitioners do every day. Acute Care PNPs provide excellent care in a variety of settings including inpatient units, specialty clinics, emergency departments and urgent care clinics. Additionally, Acute Care PNPs conduct extensive research on the care of acutely ill and injured children, serve as leaders, and educate the future acute care PNPs,” Jordan said. “Every day, Acute Care PNPs care for children and their families through some of the most difficult times of their lives. I am beyond humbled by the work that they do and am excited to share our impact.”
Jordan is co-chair of the Acute Care Special Interest Group and serves on the NAPNAP Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. Jordan also serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for the Journal of Pediatric Health Care, the official journal of NAPNAP.
