The UAB Department of Surgery's Junior Faculty Exchange Program involves a reciprocal exchange of assistant and associate professor-level faculty from UAB and several intuitions across the nation during the academic year.
The program was created to build an academic relationship between the participating surgical departments and to provide a mechanism for junior faculty to disseminate their research, expand their networks and learn from other leaders and experts outside of their home institution.
In past years, a typical visit lasts two or three days, and the visiting faculty member usually gives a lecture to students and residents, as well as a section/division-level lecture, with some faculty presiding at Department grand rounds.
This year, the following individuals have been selected for the faculty exchange program:
- University of Florida: Kyle Eudailey, M.D.
- University of California-Davis: J. Bart Rose, M.D., MAS, FACS
- University of Texas Southwestern: Douglas Anderson, M.D., M.S.
- Northwestern University: Kristy Broman, M.D., M.P.H, FACS
- University of Michigan: Jessica Fazendin, M.D., FACS
