Biography
Dr. Jessica Fazendin is a graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed her general surgery residency in Philadelphia at Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed a fellowship in endocrine surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her clinical interests include hyperparathyroidism, benign and malignant thyroid conditions, benign and malignant adrenal disease and complex management of inherited endocrine syndromes.
Dr. Fazendin is committed to surgical education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She currently serves as the 3rd year medical student clerkship director for the UAB School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Fazendin actively participates in endocrine-related clinical research, with a particular interest in normocalcemic hyperparathyroidism and the surgical management of hyperthyroidism.
She also is a candidate member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES) and the American Thyroid Association (ATA) and serves on a national committee for the ATA and the AAES committee for Entrustable Professional Activities.
