Research Interests:
Dr. Harris’ research portfolio pursues novel targets of disease progression in cystic fibrosis. He focuses on TGF-β pathobiology, as this is the most established non-CFTR genetic modifier of CF disease severity. His current research projects can be divided into three streams: miRNA, airway remodeling, and socioenvironmental determinants of health. He also is site PI for multiple CFTR modulator studies. His research is currently funded by NIH NHLBI and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) support. On a national leadership level, he serves on multiple executive committees through the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Thoracic Society, and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
