The University of Alabama at Birmingham is pleased to announce availability in our Neuropsychology Fellowship program for the 2025 academic year.
We admit one neuropsychology fellow every two years. Our trainees are afforded exposure to all spectrums of neurological disease during their training at UAB and are guided through appropriate evaluation of these patients by six full-time clinical neuropsychologists and a provider referral network of more than 90 attending neurologists. Faculty are involved in both clinical and academic activities, including direct patient care as well as research.
Our world-class clinical programs include a JACHO-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level IV Epilepsy Center, and a Comprehensive MS Center of Excellence. We also have nationally recognized programs in Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders and Neuromuscular Disorders.
The program includes didactic and practicum experiences in assessment and intervention that are consistent with the Policy Statement of the Houston Conference on Specialty Education and Training in Clinical Neuropsychology.
We train advanced skills in neuropsychological evaluation and understanding of brain-behavior relationships. We endeavor to create a teaching environment that instills habits of professionalism, promotes a diverse intellectual culture, and fosters excellence in clinical supervision and mentorship.
Our aim is to develop clinical competencies that enable psychologists to qualify for certification in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology (ABCN/ABPP).
The residency participates in the Association of Postdoctoral Programs in Clinical Neuropsychology (APPCN) match program. At completion, fellows will be ready for independent practice.
