Youth Transitions Fellowship - The Youth Transitions Fellowship provides a young person with a disability the opportunity to gain professional experience with programs serving young people with disabilities and facilitate collaborations among internship, fellowship, and apprenticeship programs based in the Greater Washington, DC area.
Life Enrichment Awards Programs (LEAP) - The Life Enrichment Awards Program (LEAP) provides grants to support youth and young adults with disabilities and chronic illnesses in the Washington, DC area as they transition to adulthood.
The Youth Transitions Collaborative - The Youth Transitions Collaborative is a powerful community of more than 45 organizations that share a common mission: to empower youth and young people with disabilities as they enter adulthood and the world of work. We also share the belief that these young people have the ability to succeed, if only they are given the opportunity.
American Association for People with Disabilities (AAPD) is a convener, connector, and catalyst for change, increasing the political and economic power of people with disabilities.
Summer Internship Program - Each summer, AAPD places college students, graduate students, law students, and recent graduates with all types of disabilities in summer internships with Congressional offices, federal agencies, non-profits, and for-profit organizations in the Washington, DC area. Each intern is matched with a mentor who will assist them with their career goals. AAPD provides the interns with a living stipend, transportation to and from Washington, DC, and fully-accessible housing.
