The Collat School of Business has launched a new certificate for professionals seeking a graduate-level credential in business administration without committing to a full MBA program.
Foundations of Business Administration is a five-course, 15-credit-hour certificate designed to be completed on a part-time basis within a calendar year. This certificate also appeals to employers seeking a graduate-level learning experience to enhance their employees' skillsets at a reduced cost.
By aligning with industry demands for micro-credentials, this certificate expands the reach and enhances the value of the UAB MBA within the business community," said Ken Miller, Ed.D., executive director of the UAB MBA program.
The certificate requirements include the first four courses students take in the MBA program – Accounting and Finance for Managers; Information Technology and Business Strategy; Management and Organization; and Marketing Strategy – plus an elective of their choosing within the MBA course catalog.
All certificate courses can be applied toward an MBA or Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies opens a new website degree should students decide to pursue a full graduate program after receiving the certificate.
The Foundations of Business Administration Certificate program will begin accepting applications on June 1st for the fall term. To learn more about the certificate, please contact Christy Manning, Graduate Program Manager & Advisor, at
