Annee Cook has been promoted to assistant vice president for marketing in University Relations, a new position created to manage the increasing demands of marketing for more than 160 programs to potential UAB students. Cook, who joined UAB as director of marketing in 2020, brings 20-plus years of experience in strategic marketing, branding, media and advertising to the new role.
Since the pandemic began, the demand for online classes has jumped and the competition for students in the higher education landscape has increased. Digital marketing campaigns have become invaluable for reaching students and elevating the UAB brand. Cook’s team will support priority marketing initiatives, including undergraduate and graduate recruitment and UAB Online, the university’s online brand.
“The landscape has become increasingly competitive, and it is important for UAB to be driven by the same innovative strategies that we see in other industries.” |
“It is an exciting time to be part of marketing in higher education. The landscape has become increasingly competitive, and it is important for UAB to be driven by the same innovative strategies that we see in other industries,” Cook said.
Cook also will continue to oversee UAB trademarks and licensing and lead institutional marketing campaigns. “Her leadership with the Forbes #1 Employer campaign and The World Games has contributed to UAB's brand awareness, and we look forward to future campaigns that she will lead,” said Chief Digital Strategy & Marketing Officer Rosie O’Beirne.
