The goal of the  certificate is to prepare you to be competitive for professional opportunities after the completion of your training at UAB.

The certificate includes 15 credit hours of courses (9 required/core + 6 electives). They address six core competencies described by the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA):

  • leadership and management skills,
  • responsible conduct of research,
  • communication skills,
  • professionalism,
