Dr. Greenspan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and a Diplomate in Public Health and Environmental Vision (PH/EV). She is also a Fellow of the National Academies of Practice (FNAP) and has contributed to national optometric education through her service on the Associated Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) Interprofessional Education Committee. In addition, she serves on the American Optometric Association’s Evidence-Based Optometry (EBO) guideline development committee, supporting efforts to advance high-quality clinical practice standards.
Before joining the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, Dr. Greenspan was a faculty member at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Drexel University. Her teaching portfolio included ocular motility, optics, interprofessional management of acquired brain injury, and selected topics in vision science, perception, and psychophysics.
Clinical Specialty/Areas of expertise: Clinical experience includes providing vision assessment and rehabilitation for patients with diplopia and neurological vision impairment in the Rehabilitation Hospital.
Research interests: Interests include ocular motor assessment and management of restrictive ocular motility disorders and development of new technologies for vision care in patients with acquired neurologic injury.
