Dr. Leah Grant is from New Orleans, LA, and she graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Psychology. She received her Doctor of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. She went on to complete her residency in Pediatrics at the UAB School of Optometry.
Dr. Grant continues her journey at UABSO as an assistant professor. Her clinical and teaching interests are in pediatric optometry, aphakia management, community eye care, and the care of patients with mild traumatic brain injury. Dr. Grant is focused on providing patient-centered, evidence-based care while educating and mentoring future optometrists. She is committed to improving access to eye care for underserved communities/populations and advancing health equity through service and outreach.
In her free time, Dr. Grant enjoys relaxing with her two cats, MaoMao and Calcifer, reading, puzzles, and traveling.
