BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - POSTPONED: Due to urgent family matters, Jonny Lang has rescheduled his concert at UAB’s Alys Stephens Center to April 23, 2011.

UAB's Alys Stephens Center will present Grammy Award-winning guitarist Jonny Lang at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, in the center, 1200 10th Ave. South. This show was rescheduled from Aug. 28, 2010. Tickets are $57, $47, $37; student tickets are $20, and $10 student rush tickets will be available on the day of the show. Hear the language of deep blues, searing rock 'n' roll guitar and passionate lyrics when former prodigy instrumentalist Lang makes a whirlwind stop at the Alys Stephens Center. In more than 10 years on the road, Lang has toured with the Rolling Stones, Buddy Guy, Aerosmith, B.B. King, Blues Traveler, Jeff Beck and Sting.

Lang started playing the guitar at the age of 12, after his father took him to see the Bad Medicine Blues Band, one of the few blues bands in Fargo, N.D. Lang began taking guitar lessons from Ted Larsen, the Bad Medicine Blues Band's guitar player, and soon after joined the band. After being signed to a record contract, Lang released the critically acclaimed multi-platinum "Lie to Me" on Jan. 28, 1997. His next album was the Grammy nominated "Wander this World," released in 1998, and the more soulful "Long Time Coming" came out in 2003. Lang also made a cover of Edgar Winter's "Dying to Live." His newest album, the gospel-influenced "Turn Around," won Lang his first Grammy Award.
