BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The International Business Association (IBA) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Business will host a leading expert in U.S.-Israeli business relations for a lecture from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 25.
Speaker Tom Glaser is the president of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Region, a non-profit organization of business people, professionals, governments and individuals working to stimulate investment and trade between companies in the U.S. Southeast and Israel.
Glaser's talk will focus on international business relations, specifically the process of U.S. companies doing business within Israel. More broadly, he will speak about the intersection of cultures and economies.
The event is open to invited guests and media representatives only and will be held in room 215 of Business-Engineering Complex business wing, 1150 10th Ave. South.
"We are living and working in a global economy," says KC Pang, the faculty advisor for the IBA at UAB. "Having Tom Glaser share his international business insights with our students and members of the Birmingham community is a special opportunity for us all to become more globally minded in our approach to business and life."
Glaser also is the chairman of the Association of America-Israel Chambers of Commerce. He was formerly a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Commission for Work Force Preparation and the board of directors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Executives Association.
