BIRMINGHAM, AL — Christopher R. Mosley, Associate Executive Director at UAB Hospital, has been named president of the Birmingham Regional Chapter of the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE). His term will last from 2001 to 2003.

NAHSE is the largest non-profit association of black health care executives in the U.S. Since its inception in 1968, it has sponsored and participated in local and national programs and projects designed to improved quality, access and availability to health services and to expand educational and networking opportunities in the field of health services administration.

As Associate Executive Director at UAB Hospital, Mosley provides executive leadership for clinical and support services areas with roughly 700 employees and $55 million in operating expenses. He joined UAB in 1996 as the director of planning and executive support.

Mosley has spent the past twelve years of his career in the healthcare field, including various managerial roles at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama.

He was reared in Sawyerville, Alabama, and holds a master's degree in public and private management from Birmingham Southern College. He received a bachelor's degree from Alabama State University.

Mosley is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the executive committee of the United Negro College Fund. He is also a member of the Leadership Birmingham Class of 2001.
