BIRMINGHAM, AL — Chris Mosley, an Associate Executive Director at UAB Hospital, has accepted a position as Vice President of Operations at St. Anthony Hospitals in Denver, effective July 16. The St. Anthony hospitals are a part of the Centura Health System.
Mosley will assume operational responsibilities for professional services and support departments. Additionally, he will manage the hospitals’ physician practices. Combined, the St. Anthony hospitals have 694 licensed acute care beds and a medical staff of more than 1,200.
“It is always difficult to say good bye to a trusted colleague and friend but we certainly wish Chris the very best,” says Mary Nash, Ph.D., COO and Chief Nursing Officer at UAB Hospital. “I know he will enjoy great success in future endeavors.”
Mosley joined UAB in 1996 as the director of planning and executive support. In 1998, he was named an Associate Executive Director of UAB Hospital, providing leadership for clinical and support services areas. He has spent the past twelve years of his career in the healthcare field, including various managerial roles at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama.
He was reared in Sawyerville, Ala., and holds a master's degree in public and private management from Birmingham Southern College. He received a bachelor's degree from Alabama State University.
Mosley is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the executive committee of the United Negro College Fund. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Birmingham Class of 2001.
