BIRMINGHAM, AL — Hear former astronaut and UAB Researcher Larry Delucas, O.D., Ph.D., comment on the personal and professional losses he feels after the space shuttle Columbia disaster.

Delucas is the Director of UAB’s Center for Biophysical Sciences and Engineering. He was a shuttle crewmember on Columbia in 1992. His department had several drug experiments on Columbia — research into developing better medicines for the treatment of AIDS, Diabetes and HIV.
