Soto was a former UAB Surgery STREAMS student and a TL-1 grant winner.

Six Department of Surgery faculty and staff were honored at the annual UAB Service Awards. which honors employees who have made a substantial career commitment to UAB. The program was designed to acknowledge and illustrate gratitude to employees at each five-year milestone of service to UAB.
