The UAB Department of Surgery is honored to recognize the following faculty members who were admitted into the Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons:
Inductees were conferred with the FACS distinction at the annual ACS Clinical Congress in San Diego this October. The selection process for fellows is rigorous and requires each applicant to pass a thorough evaluation of both professional competence and ethical fitness.
"The FACS distinction is the culmination of countless hours of hard work and dedication to the profession," says Fay Fletcher Kerner Endowed Chair of Surgery Herbert Chen, M.D., FACS. "Our department is made better by their contributions to the profession, and I look forward to seeing what these exemplary faculty members continue to accomplish."
With more than 84,000 members, the American College of Surgeons is the largest and most robust surgical organization in the world.
