The department is pleased to welcome Manu Kaushik, M.D., to the Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery as an assistant professor.
Before moving to the US, Kaushik completed medical school at Manipal College of Medical Sciences. He then completed his residency in general surgery at Ascension Providence Hospital, Michigan State University, MI. During his residency, Kaushik found interest in outcomes research and continues to examine outcomes in rural Alabama.
Kaushik will primarily practice at the Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama in Greenville, AL. He is currently a member of the American College of Surgeons, International College of Surgeons, South Asian Association of Surgeons, and the Society for the Surgery of the Alimentary tract.
Kaushik has presented his research at numerous regional and national conferences, and has published several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He has also been awarded with various types of residency and research awards. His clinical research includes GI and general surgery, and he enjoys practicing all elements of general surgery.
