Daphne Arnold, LICSW, PIP, associate professor in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology, received her master’s in social work and will receive her doctorate in social work from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. Prior to joining the Department of Pediatrics, she worked at the UAB Center for Psychiatric Medicine and the UAB Civitan-Sparks Clinic. She joins the department as the co-director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Center. Her specified interests include increasing leadership for cultural diversity and cultural and linguistic competence in networks supporting children with special healthcare needs and working to reduce health disparities experienced for marginalized populations.
