The mission of Kidney Pipeline Programs in the Division of Nephrology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is to provide education and engagement at the early stages in biomedical interest to instill an understanding of the importance and opportunity of a career in the underserved area of kidney research and nephrology.
PRedOctoral PhD & MD research training in TEams (PROMOTE)
PROMOTE trains pre-matriculating PhD, pre-matriculating MD, and Post-Baccalaureate scholars for a team science based summer project (8 weeks) focused on kidney-relevant research with a mentor team composed of PhD and MD scientists with mentoring backgrounds.
Gap Year Internship
The Gap Year Research Internships are designed for students who anticipate graduating or who have graduated with a Bachelor or Master degree and with the motivation to enroll in graduate and/or professional degree programs within the next 12-18 months, but need time to consider career options.
KURE (Kidney, Urology, Hematology Undergraduate Research Experience)
Who: Undergraduate students in their final 2 years of undergraduate degree interested in KUH-focused research
When: Summer
