Robert C. Axtell, Ph.D., is the Distinguished Alumnus Speaker for the 30th Gail Cassell Microbiology Research Retreat.
Dr. Axtell is currently an Associate Professor in the Arthritis & Clinical Immunology Research Program at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. He received his Ph.D. in the laboratory of Chander Raman, Ph.D. and went on to complete postdoctoral training at Stanford University in the laboratory of Larry Steinman, M.D.
Dr. Axtell's research primarily focuses on understanding the immunological mechanisms underlying multiple sclerosis (MS) and other autoimmune diseases.
