Abstract Guidelines
We are accepting abstracts for poster or oral presentations online. The abstracts should include: the title and authors; and should be less than 250 words in length (excluding title and authors). The submission deadline for abstracts is 11:59 PM, Sunday, October 13th. All pre- and postdoctoral students are expected to submit an abstract for a poster or oral presentation.
Oral and Poster Presentations will be 10 minutes, with five minutes of questions and answers. Posters should be no larger than 36” high x 48” wide. Please do not have posters printed until after you have been notified that your abstract has been selected for poster presentation.
Judges will be using a simple scoring method based on the following criteria:
- Presentation of Hypothesis
- Appropriateness of Methods
- Validity of Results Related to Stated Hypothesis
- Appropriateness – Importance of Conclusions
- Format and Organization
- Responses to Questions
- Innovation: Ideas/Methods/Conclusions
- Staying on time
Participants eligible to compete for awards:
- All PhD students and postdocs in primary and secondary faculty labs
- All MS researchers residing in primary and secondary faculty labs
