All our University of Alabama Hospital (Birmingham) Family Medicine Residency positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program. Only electronic applications submitted through ERAS are considered.
Application Consideration Criteria
- Applicant must have passed Step 1 and Step 2
- Applicant must have graduated from medical school within five years of application
- International applicants must have a valid ECFMG certificate
- U.S. clinical experience is expected for international medical graduates

- USMLE or COMLEX scores
- Three Letters of Recommendation - Please note: At least one must be from within the specialty of Family Medicine.
- Dean’s Letter
- Copy of Medical School diploma
- ECFMG certificate (for International Medical Graduates)
