Research at the UAB Gregory Fleming James Cystic Fibrosis Research Center spans the full spectrum of discovery, from fundamental laboratory science to patient-focused clinical studies.
Our basic science investigators explore the underlying biology of cystic fibrosis to uncover disease mechanisms, identify new therapeutic targets, and advance innovative treatment strategies. Building on these discoveries, our clinical researchers evaluate emerging therapies, study the many ways CF affects the body, and develop better approaches to improving health and quality of life for people living with cystic fibrosis. Together, these integrated research efforts accelerate the translation of scientific breakthroughs into meaningful advances in patient care.
