Behavioral Neurology/Neuropsychology Interdisciplinary Noon Conference
This is a forum for UAB clinicians and staff to discuss recent advances in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of AD and related disorders. Organized by Dr. Geldmacher, each session is led by a faculty moderator with varying formats such as journal club, interesting case discussion, and guest speakers at the discretion of the moderator. Topics over the past two years have included the revised diagnostic criteria for AD, early onset AD and SSA disability policy, loss of decisional capacity in MCI and AD, innovative models for dementia care, alternative analytic models for cognitive tests, and new therapeutic targets for treating AD. Held on the 4nd Tuesday of the month.
AD/FTD Journal Club
A weekly journal club to discuss recent papers related to pathogenesis and mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease and frontotemporal dementia. Students can receive credit for this journal club, which is offered as GBS 793. Held on Tuesdays at 4pm. Contact Erik Roberson for more information.
