The CEM program is exemplar in terms of providing relevant construction industry knowledge and flexibility. Because of this program, my experience, and recently expanded duties, I have risen to a senior vice president on a leadership team with a large design-build firm.

The skills that I have learned in this program will definitely help advance my career throughout the company. Thanks to UAB for this wonderful opportunity.

Professionally, the CEM program has launched my career to amazing new heights. I was able to change jobs, acquire new responsibilities, and received several substantial pay raises. This has been an amazing and rewarding experience.

The CEM degree is not just a piece of paper, it represents the knowledge that I have obtained that will change my life forever. I am confident that I now have the necessary skills that gives me a competitive edge to lead, communicate, visualize, and problem solve.

The knowledge, skills and abilities gained from the CEM degree program has been pragmatic in all aspects of my construction business. It also inspired me to expand plan to include program and project management services as part of my construction company portfolio. As a result, I entered an alliance with a larger firm, and we just landed a very large construction management contract. This would not be possible without my UAB experience.

I cannot express how rewarding, yet challenging, the UAB CEM master's program actually is. It has given me the necessary skills to continue to evolve into a progressive forward-thinking project manager and has opened doors for advancement within my organization.

I was recently hired by a very large general contracting company in Texas. They mentioned that the CEM program was an integral part of me being successful as a candidate. In addition, I will receive a pay increase after graduation next month.

I wanted to capture an advanced degree because I was recently passed over for a promotion and I wanted to be poised and ready the next time the position becomes available. The trouble was that I was smart enough and could do the work, but I was not formally trained and credentialed. The CEM degree path has bridged the gap and now I can offer real project management solutions and strategies.

I have enjoyed my group parings with many of my classmates. I have learned a great deal that will aid my (construction) journey for years to come. I am confident that CEM may be my best career decision.

Because of the classes in the CEM program, I have gained a greater confidence in the work that I do every day. My supervisor would agree, because some of the younger folks in our company are starting the CEM program right now. The results coming out of the program speak for themselves and it is something that they believe in. My advancement in the company would not have been possible without this degree.

The curriculum is what lead me to choose the UAB CEM program. I was relatively new to the construction industry and felt like an imposter. The very valuable knowledge gained from the classes and from my groupmates have built my confidence.

I have currently received three promotions since starting the program and hope to inspire other girls to pursue their dream in engineering.

I loved being in the program at UAB. Although frustrating at times, I do not regret one bit the time and effort and expense I invested in myself. Every single day I use something that I learned from the program.

One of the biggest consideration that I had before joining the CEM program was the time and money. I can assure you, for me, this is money and time well spent, and the knowledge gained will continue to pay dividends for the rest of my life.

What attracted me to the UAB CEM program was that all ten classes were real-world and relevant. The classes have made me more knowledge, confident, and productive, and I learned current software technology that was not available as an undergraduate.

I learned that to be competitive in this industry you must obtain degrees and certifications. The CEM degree program was incredible. It is like they took a knife and said we are going to cut out every bit of the fat and only keep what is absolutely practical. It was worth every bit of money that I put into it.

The CEM Program has given me the confidence to try, the knowledge and skill set to succeed, the courage to speak up, and the fortitude to make difficult decisions. Because of UAB, I am a better project manager.

An older superintendent told me to never stop learning if I wanted to advance in the construction industry. I had years of construction field knowledge, but I did not have much business or office experience. The CEM classes have been fantastic, expanded my knowledge, and also helped me build some outstanding professional contacts and relationships.

My studies at UAB have given me a better understanding of construction, increased my confidence, and helped me improve in my career. The CEM program was an important and rewarding experience.

Thanks to this amazing program, I was just promoted to Civil Engineer I status by the county where I work. One of the best parts of the program are the friends that I have made from the very first group project. We communicate (network) multiple times per day, on weekends and even between terms.

Since I started this program I have earned my PMP and LEED AP certifications. The courses offered in the CEM program makes acquiring these certifications such a breeze. This program has certainly expedited my construction career.

After building houses for several years, I recently applied for a position as an assistant project manager in the commercial construction industry. Without the challenges that the CEM program has given me, I do not feel that I would be prepared for this role. I feel that this degree helps jump start us late bloomers back to the front of the crowd. I would not trade this degree for the world, and it has given me the confidence to compete with the best of the best in the construction industry.

Every class brought something positive to the table. Having hands-on access to the P6 Scheduling and Building Information Modeling software was just great. The program tested our perseverance and helped build professional character.

I selected UAB over other universities because the CEM program is prestigious, very well-known, and has a more affordable cost. Also, looking at the numbers, the CEM program was ranked much better, and the courses lined up neck-to-neck. UAB is an “Unforgettable” experience, an “Admirable” institution, and the “Beginning” of success and happiness.
