Marla D. Corson is an accomplished environmental, health, and safety (EHS) executive, adjunct professor, and U.S. Air Force veteran with over two decades of experience transforming organizations through strategic leadership and innovative safety initiatives. She brings extensive industry expertise into the classroom, having led safety initiatives in heavy manufacturing, food and beverage, warehouse distribution, and transportation. This real-world experience significantly enriches the academic experience for her students.
In addition to her academic role, Marla serves as an Advisor for Voxel, an AI Safety company, where she applies her knowledge of occupational safety to guide the integration of AI-driven safety solutions. In 2024, she founded Corson Consulting & Speaking LLC, a business that offers expert consulting and speaking engagements focused on leadership, safety, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Marla has held global leadership roles at major companies such as Amazon, Nestlé Waters, and Alcoa, where she led teams of up to 3,500 EHS professionals. She spearheaded process improvement initiatives and developed industry-leading DEI programs, which significantly improved safety metrics and transformed organizational cultures. Her wealth of experience equips her to provide both theoretical insights and practical strategies in leadership, and safety to her students.
As a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Marla brings a disciplined approach to leadership and operations. She also served an 18-month mission in Venezuela.
