• What: A presentation of updates from various UAB research entities, including the CCTS, Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), Institutional Review Board (IRB), OnCore, and more.
• Why: To provide critical guidance on new or changing requirements and support the conduct of clinical research at UAB (and beyond).
• When: Quarterly
• Who: All clinical research teams, regardless of study type or foci, are encouraged to send at least one person to attend and take back updates to their team and home office.

• What: CITP is a hands-on didactic and pragmatic training and education program to prepare new investigators in the conduct and implementation of human subject research.
• Why: To promote awareness of the role and responsibility of principal investigators in the conduct of clinical research and good clinical practice (GCP) competencies for investigators conducting clinical research. To enhance investigator awareness of the administrative infrastructure supporting clinical research at UAB, and promote its effective utilization to enable efficient time-to-trial-activation. 
• When: Tuesdays for five weeks; 9am-1pm for Fall sessions and 1-5pm for Spring sessions.
• Who: The program is designed for those with MDs, DOs, DMDs, and PhDs, with a heavy emphasis on the responsibilities of investigators when overseeing clinical trials with humans.

• CITP on the Go is a convenient way to participate in the CCTS Clinical Investigator Training Program, an abbreviated training curriculum for clinical investigators and trialists. The program promotes excellence in clinical practice and educates on the research capacities and expertise available to support clinical trials. 

• After you listen, please complete our brief evaluation to help us improve future podcast offerings.

• What: A foundational research orientation that combines self-paced online modules with a required interactive live session. Participants complete coursework covering human subjects research, Good Clinical Practice, and essential processes for implementing sponsored and investigator-initiated studies, followed by an exam and live session to complete the program.
• Why: To provide participants with basic tools, familiarize them with key research study concepts and processes, and help those new to research avoid common pitfalls.
• When: Start anytime. Self-paced coursework may be completed on your schedule. After completing the required modules and exam, participants must attend one of the scheduled live sessions to complete the course and receive a certificate of completion. See upcoming live session dates here.
• Who: Designed for investigators and research staff who are new to research, as well as those seeking a refresher on key aspects of conducting a clinical research study. The CCTS strongly encourages new faculty, coordinators, budget staff, and regulatory staff to participate. *Attendees may earn 4 AMAPRA Category 1 CME credits.

• What: In-depth training on essential areas of research with key leaders in research at UAB over six sessions. This program provides academic training in the principles required to excel in today’s dynamic clinical research environment.
• Why: To educate on implementing and managing a clinical study or trial with an emphasis on Good Clinical Practices (GCP), compliance, and other key topics. 
• When: This is a six-week program, offered in the spring and fall, meeting once per week from 1-4:30pm.
• Who: Appropriate for study coordinators, billing staff, regulatory coordinators, and other research staff. 
• Cost: There is now no charge for RTP.

• What: Brief presentations on topics such as IRB Updates, Clinical Trial Recruitment, Clinical Trial Billing, Best Budget Practices, Informed Consenting, HIPAA Regulations, and more!
• Why: The goal of this program is to fill any gaps in information related to the implementation of clinical trials that have been identified by investigators and their research teams.
• When: Offered the first and third Thursday of each month. Usually from 12:00-1:00 pm.
• Who: Seminar topics will be of interest and relevance to clinical research personnel including investigators, regulatory personnel, study coordinators and financial administrators. *CME credits provided for each session.
