About the Study
DISCOVERY is designed to identify risk factors for pediatric type 2 diabetes. Children will be in the study for up to 4 years, with clinic visits every 6 months.
Eligibility
- Children must be overweight to participate.
- Age 8-13 years for girls.
- Age 10-15 years for boys.

Reimbursement
Children and families will be reimbursed up to $1745 (total - all years) for their time.
Health Care
Children will see a healthcare professional at every visit, will be monitored for diabetes, and will receive information on their risk for diabetes. Recruiting June 2024–July 2027.
