Research Interests

My research interests are nutrition and chronic disease prevention, lifestyle interventions, and nutrition education and communication.

Why did you decide to pursue a PhD?

One of the reasons I chose to pursue a PhD in Nutrition Sciences is because I have always been interested in research and the science behind what we know about nutrition today. I enjoy asking questions and learning how studies help us better understand nutrition and health.

Ultimately, I wanted to be involved in research and contributing to new knowledge in the field.

Why UAB?

I chose UAB because of the vast opportunities for research and education that are offered. I also love the city of Birmingham, and it now feels like a second home!

Any special interests, hobbies, or fun facts?

I enjoy hiking with my dog. Watching old movies. Collecting vinyl’s, CDs, cassettes, and VHS tapes. I also enjoy thrifting and antiquing.
