The UAB Departments of Health Services Administration and Nutrition Sciences united for a "Poster & Lightning Talks Session" at the Edge of Chaos. The two departments, each members of the School of Health Professions, used a poster session format to bring together faculty, staff, students and scientists to discuss research and teaching.
The event was designed to highlight the research conducted in each department so each side could openly discuss their work and explore potential opportunities for collaboration in the lab, the field and the classroom. More than 70 people from the two departments attended the event on February 4, 2020.
The Department of Health Services Administration's mission of developing leaders to shape tomorrow’s healthcare includes a unique blend of interdisciplinary health services research bringing together health administration, informatics, quality and safety, simulation and a variety of methods such as implementation, health, and data science as well as econometrics to create synergies that allow us to amplify our impact on healthcare.
