Our cohort model means you will be with the same classmates the entire time you are on campus. But more than that - you will be connected for the rest of your careers. You will start your career with a built-in peer network and together, as you each advance, you will change the landscape of how healthcare is delivered. Each cohort is numbered – starting with Class 1 in 1965– creating a way to identify fellow alumni that is unique to the UAB MSHA program. You can learn more about our current students below.

Aditi Kumar
Aditi is originally from the Bay Area in California. She graduated from Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering in 2020. After graduation, she worked as a Customer Success Consultant at QGenda and as a private caregiver. During Aditi's college career, she researched at Clark Atlanta University and the Coskun Lab. She has served on various executive boards including Georgia Tech Bhangra, Relay for Life, and A-Town Showdown. She now serves as the VP of Social Affairs for Class 59 and is on the DEIB committee. In her free time, she loves trying new restaurants and spending quality time with friends and family.
Alexandra Voisey
Alexandra Voisey, originally from Atlanta, Georgia, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a minor in Spanish. During her undergraduate tenure, Alexandra gained diverse clinical experience working as a Medical Scribe and Patient Care Technician at two different Emergency Departments, and as an assistant at an IV Infusion Center. Additionally, Alexandra graduated from the U.S Career Institute as an NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. She utilized her broad clinical knowledge while living and volunteering in San Jose, Costa Rica at Sacred Heart of Jesus Hospital for the Homeless, an experience that improved her translating skills and better enabled her to care for future patients. Her heart for increasing access to quality care is reflected in her feature in the on-going publication of a major professional translation project for the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine Journal. Throughout her professional journey, Alexandra developed a passion for optimizing quality of care and workplace environments, maximizing operational efficiency, and increasing accessibility to health services for all. This prompted her to pursue her dual MSHA/BMA studies at UAB, where she currently serves as the Vice President of Recruitment for her cohort and enjoys engaging in her program's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee. Since joining the program, Alexandra has also placed 2nd in the 2023 Penn State Case Competition alongside colleagues, become an active ACHE member, and joined the Facilities, Maintenance, & Emergency Management Department at UAB Hospital as an Administrative Intern. She looks forward to using this robust foundation to improve health outcomes via multi-faceted innovations in our healthcare systems.
Alyssa Barefield
Alyssa grew up in Birmingham, AL. She was a psychology/pre med major and part of the University Fellows Experience at the University of Alabama, and she graduated from there in 2019. During her time at UA she was president of numerous organizations and honor societies, worked with her faculty mentors on government-funded research projects, and volunteered with many organizations across the state of Alabama. Many of these experiences and seeing her parents working in the healthcare field lead to her passion for the healthcare system and health equity initiatives. The following year she obtained a Masters in Biomedical and Health Sciences from UAB. After a gap year she then started medical school and during her second year realized that she wanted to pivot from clinical medicine to administrative medicine. She is very grateful for the opportunity to be obtaining her MSHA and MBA at the institution that has been so integral in her healthcare journey thus far. In her free time she loves to be outdoors (like a cute hiking/trail walking moment NOT camping), read, try out a new restaurant, and to watch reality TV.
Alexandria Lee
Alexandria is from Pleasant Grove,Al. She graduated from The University of South Alabama in 2022 with a Bachelor's of Science in Professional Health Science with a concentration in Healthcare management. During her undergraduate career, she served as the Black Student Union President and the chair of Black Girls Rock Scholarship program. She is devoted to giving back to the community and advocating for the underserved population. Alexandria has began her MSHA journey as a dual degree Master of Public Health student. She is excited about her journey and her future career in the healthcare world.
Andrea Rodriguez
Andrea Rodriguez is a native of Birmingham, Alabama, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Samford University with a B.S. in Business Management in May 2023. Throughout her academic journey at Samford, she held various leadership roles, notably serving as the Vice President of Annual Events for the Student Activities Council. Her educational pursuits extended beyond the campus with a study abroad experience in London, where she undertook an internship at the Royal Free Hospital, sparking a profound interest in healthcare. She further enriched her experiences through an internship at the UAB Highlands Geriatric Inpatient Unit. Andrea's commitment to global health became evident during a medical mission trip to the Amazon Jungle, where she developed a passion for delivering equitable and efficient care. These experiences solidified her aspiration to forge a career in hospital operations. In her free time, Andrea enjoys traveling, dancing, trying new restaurants, and hiking with her dogs.
Areesa Badalpara
Areesa was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management while working part-time. After graduating, she worked at Parker Cornea, an ophthalmology clinic, as a full-time assistant administrator. She then decided to further pursue her career by applying to UAB€™s MSHA program. After the program, Areesa aspires to become a hospital administrator with goals of providing better access to healthcare and quality of care. Aside from school and work, Areesa loves spending time with family and friends, while pursuing her passion in photography.
Avery Bradford
Avery was raised in a rural community in Alabama. She graduated Cum Laude as a first generation student from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a degree in Healthcare Management. During her undergraduate time she served as President in the Healthcare Management Student Association and was involved in other leadership positions with organizations such as the Alabama Chapter of ACHE. She worked clinically as a pharmacy technician in a retail pharmacy. Avery completed an internship with a primary care group practice that served rural patients in Northeast AL. Her goal is to be a caring administrator to populations who struggle with access to care. During her spare time she enjoys going to gospel concerts, cross stitching and exploring historical sites.
Ben Sotelo
Ben grew up in Spanish Fort, Alabama. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Alabama with a B.S. in Professional Health Sciences along with a concentration in Healthcare Management. During his time at South Alabama, Ben worked at various organizations which included significant roles at Infirmary Health such as Admissions Assistant and Human Resources Representative. Additionally, he completed an internship at Mobile Ob/Gyn. After graduation, he hopes to work in hospital operations and collaborate with healthcare professionals. Ben enjoys spending time outside as well as hanging out with friends and family.
Benjamin Williams
Benjamin grew up in Vestavia Hills, AL. He graduated Cum Laude from Auburn University in Spring 2023, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and minor in Finance. Benjamin was a Dean's List student and involved in different leadership roles during his undergraduate years. He served as a member of the Harbert College of Business Executive Society, Harbert College of Business Executive Council, and Project Uplift child mentorship program. Before starting the MSHA program, Benjamin spent summers at Encompass Health and Pack Health in administrative intern roles. Benjamin is currently pursuing a dual MSHA/MBA degree. He is interested in pediatric hospital operations and ambulatory services. In his free time, Benjamin loves spending time with friends and family, volunteering at church, playing basketball, and traveling.
Beth Hungerpiller
Beth was born in Selma, Alabama but grew up in Snoqualmie, Washington. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with Distinguished Honors from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management in December of 2022. During her time at UAB she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority where she held multiple leadership positions. She also was the administrative and clinical operations intern for the UAB Department of Neurosurgery. After graduation she worked in the UAB Department of Graduate Medical Education working with residents and fellows. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Health Administration at UAB. Beth hopes to learn more and use her knowledge to provide excellent care to patients while still benefiting the organization. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, at local coffee shops and trying new restaurants.
Cameron Kennedy
Cameron is from South Jordan, Utah. He graduated summa cum laude from Weber State University with a B.S in Health Administration and a minor in Finance. During his time at Weber State, Cameron completed an administrative internship at Intermountain Healthcare and was a patient service representative for Intermountain Medical Center. His goal is to work in hospital operations so that he can be close to the front line of care delivery and accomplish initiatives that will benefit the community. Cameron enjoys golfing, fishing, and spending time with family.
Caroline Daw
Originally from Jacksonville, FL, Caroline attended Clemson University. After graduating with a degree in Mathematical Sciences and Biology, she interned at Mayo Clinic Florida, working on various operational projects for the departments of Transplant and Cardiothoracic Surgery. That experience inspired her interest in and passion for the Healthcare Administration field. Prior to enrolling in the MSHA program this fall, Caroline also worked at UAB Medicine as a clinical operations intern for Patient Throughput; she has really enjoyed pivoting to work in that more strategy-oriented position. With her graduate endeavors now her primary focus, Caroline is honored to serve her MSHA classmates as class president. If not at school or work, Caroline is most likely found on a run, catching up with a friend, or volunteering at her church.
Cody Pech
Cody was born and raised in South Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management and was named a 2022 LSU Rucks Fellow for his academic accomplishments. His interest in business and healthcare led him to a year-long internship with Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge, where he supported the Business Operations Department of the system's physician group. Cody is currently a MSHA Candidate in Class 59 at UAB. He is passionate about improving operational efficiency and increasing access to healthcare. In his free time, you can find Cody exercising or cheering on his LSU Tigers.
Dillon Smith
Dillon is a first-generation college student from Canton Mississippi. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Mississippi State University with concentrations in marketing and insurance. While at Mississippi State, he earned Dean's List honors. Dillon leisurely enjoys gaming, watching sports, and listening to various podcasts.
Ezra Gore
Ezra grew up in McKinney, Texas. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Trinity University with a degree in Business Analytics and Technology. He played both football and baseball at Trinity earning all-conference honors in both sports. Prior to entering UAB MSHA Program, he interned at Baylor Scott and White in Dallas, Texas where he assisted leadership in several projects centered around data analytics. His passion for healthcare analytics in improving patient care lead him to do a dual degree in Health Informatics at UAB. Ezra has held several leadership positions at Trinity University, serving as the President of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Male Intercollegiate Athletic Committee representative for the athletic department, and captain of the baseball team. In his free time he enjoys watching sports, spending time with family and friends, and working out. He is passionate about leading the next generation of healthcare professionals that will continue to make healthcare more equitable and accessible.
Forrest Winton
Forrest grew up in The Woodlands, TX, and graduated magna cum laude from The University of South Alabama with a degree in Healthcare Management. While at South Alabama, Forrest was a part of the 2020 South Alabama Jaguars Football Team as well as a founding officer of the Society of Healthcare Management Students. Prior to graduation, Forrest completed internships with Houston Methodist, USA Health, and Mobile Ob-Gyn, P.C. Forrest is passionate about increasing operational and financial efficiency within inpatient acute care settings. Forrest enjoys spending time fishing for speckled trout, playing golf, and watching college football.
George Fereg
George Fereg, a Houston, TX native, is a distinguished graduate of Baylor University, holding a BBA in Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation and a minor in Biology with cum laude honors. During his undergraduate tenure, George exhibited leadership as the Social Chair for the largest Pre-Health organization, Baylor Medical Student Association, and served as President of Orthodox Christian Campus Ministries. His commitment to academic excellence and research was underscored by his role as a Clinical Research Assistant for the Waco COVID Survey, which led to his acknowledgment in the research article "Unrealistic Optimism and Risk for COVID-19 Disease." Post-graduation, he enriched his healthcare administration acumen as a Patient Services Coordinator in Ambulatory Business Services at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Texas Medical Center before embarking on his dual MSHA/MBA studies at UAB. Actively contributing to UAB, George engages in the Recruitment and Onboarding Committee, the Diversity Dialogue Committee, and the Philanthropy Committee, serves as an Administrative Intern in Clinical Operations at UAB Health System, placed 2nd at the 2023 Penn State Health Administration Case Competition alongside colleagues, and became an ACHE Student Associate.
Isaiah Strong
Isaiah is an Orlando native who recently graduated with Magna Laude honors from Samford University, where he earned a B.S. in Healthcare Administration and a Minor in Health Informatics and Analytics. He was an active member of the Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society, serving as its President, and he is currently an alumni advisory board member for Samford's Healthcare Administration program. During his undergraduate studies, he completed two internships at Orlando Health and Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, which helped him realize that healthcare administration was his true calling. Isaiah is passionate about utilizing his leadership skills to positively impact the lives of countless people in need. He enjoys spending time with friends and family and hitting playing pickleball courts in his free time!
Josef Saway
Josef is from Birmingham, Alabama and attended UAB where he received his bachelors in Neuroscience and Masters in Business Administration. Currently, Josef is a Dual Degree student with the Health Administration and Health Informatics Graduate program. His career goals involve leading in all spaces of healthcare, including the informatics department, while also bridging the gap between technological understanding and Physician needs. He has a very strong passion for supporting the workforce and looks to optimize healthcare systems by aiming for an operational role and be a resource at all levels. Currently, Josef works as an Intern for the Alabama College of Healthcare Executives of Alabama (ACHE) as well as Interns for UAB Hospital Supply Chain department in Resource Utilization. Outside his aspiring work goals, Josef is an endurance athlete in running, biking and swimming and enjoys nutritional cooking and music.
Julia Dick
Julia is from Benton, Arkansas. She graduated with Odyssey distinction from Hendrix College with a B.A. in computer science and a minor in mathematics. She was the captain of the Hendrix women's soccer team and volunteered in the college's international office. Most of her healthcare experience before UAB came from internships and job shadowing where she discovered healthcare administration. Her current areas of interest in healthcare are operations and informatics, exploring how data and artificial intelligence can improve patient outcomes and employee well-being. In her free time, Julia loves to cook, play pickup soccer, and take road trips.
Justin Martin
Justin is from Ocean Springs, Mississippi. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Healthcare Management with minors in Chemistry and Management Information Systems. During his time at UM, Justin participated in various leadership and service activities. This included his time volunteering at Health Clinics in both Oxford and Jackson, Mississippi. This also includes his time serving as a Teaching Assistant and Supplemental Instruction leader in the University of Mississippi Chemistry Department. Through his various experiences, Justin became passionate about patient safety and healthcare quality and hopes that through his knowledge of process improvement and strategic communication, he can make a difference in both of these areas.
Kalee Beardsley
Kalee is originally from Dallas, TX. She graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences. While in school, she completed and published a research project studying anaerobic exercise. She was also a member of Alpha Omicron Pi. Having various experiences at the bedside and face-to-face care with patients, Kalee developed a passion for healthcare administration. Prior to admittance to the MSHA program, Kalee worked for a year in medical device sales with Boston Scientific. In her free time, Kalee enjoys spending time with family and hiking or backpacking outdoors.
Kesnett "Sunny" Hadish
Sunny Hadish, originally from Santa Rosa, CA, recently graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Irvine with a degree in Public Health Policy. Fueled by her Eritrean-American background, Sunny is passionate about health equity and aspires to structurally improve healthcare to enhance patient care and better consider the needs of those most burdened by health disparities. Throughout her time as an undergraduate, she sought internship experiences that focused on making healthcare services more affordable and accessible. Her time as a Legal Researcher, Tigrinya Translator, Public Health Practicum Intern, and Patient Educator helped her gain valuable insight into the deficiencies of our current healthcare system and areas where health administration could address these shortcomings. Outside of academics, Sunny enjoys jazz dance and participated in a touring dance company throughout her time in college. Additionally, she values spending time with family and friends, traveling, and trying new restaurants. Sunny appreciates being in this program and her current position as a Corporate Administration intern at UAB Hospital.
Libby Welborn
Libby grew up on Lookout Mountain outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wake Forest University with a degree in Engineering. After college, she stayed in North Carolina and worked as a Wake Forest Fellow, where she had the opportunity to help the university with various projects including the development of a strategic plan. Libby realized her love for healthcare at a young age, and it was during an internship at a pediatric clinic that she developed a passion for the administrative side of healthcare. Currently, she is pursuing a dual MSHA/MBA degree. Outside of the classroom, Libby enjoys running and perfecting her chocolate chip cookie recipe.
Luke Bice
Luke grew up in Geneva, Illinois. He graduated Cum Laude from Samford University in 2023 with a B.S. in Healthcare Administration and minors in Biology and Health Informatics and Analytics. During his time at Samford, Luke held multiple leadership and service positions, including Treasurer for Upsilon Phi Delta, Ambassador for Samford€™s School of Public Health, and council member of the American Enterprise Institute Executive Council. He remains involved with Samford as an advisory board member for the Department of Healthcare Administration and Analytics. His diverse experience in healthcare includes internships with Kassouf Healthcare Solutions, Christ Health Center, Encompass Health, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, and UAB Hospital. Born with a critical congenital heart defect (CCHD), Luke€™s passion for healthcare stems from his open heart surgery at one week of life and the perspective it has given him, and it is what drove him to co-author a published research article analyzing the effect of U.S. state-level pulse-oximetry screening mandates on regional infant mortality rates due to CCHDs. As an MSHA/MBA dual candidate, Luke aspires to help patients lead healthy and meaningful lives through innovation in the healthcare delivery system and responsible policymaking. In his free time, Luke loves to travel, read, and spend time with friends.
Mark Angus
Originally from Colorado, Mark studied Industrial/Organizational Psychology at BYU-Idaho. After taking a class on Health Administration towards the end of his undergraduate degree, he determined that he was "hooked" and decided to attend graduate school studying health administration. Most of his work experience is in Human Resources, an area that he has enjoyed developing his skillset in. Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, reading, writing, hiking, and being outside. He and his wife are expecting their first child in January.
Preston Hansen
Preston is from Fredericksburg, Virginia. He attended Brigham Young University - Idaho graduating with a Bachelor's in Healthcare Administration in 2023. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Preston worked at Madison Memorial Hospital as an Emergency Room Admitting Clerk and as an administrative intern with their Risk Management and Compliance Department. Following graduation, he worked with Mountain View Hospital in their Population Health Department. These experiences demonstrated to Preston that a strong administrative team is essential in the provision of exceptional care for those the hospital serves and in supporting those providing care, which has continued to be his motivation to pursue a career in hospital operations. In his spare time, Preston enjoys fishing, camping, skiing, and spending time with his family.
Sarah Glass
Sarah was born in Mobile, AL. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with High Distinguished Honors from UAB in 2019. Sarah participated in UAB's Accelerated Bachelor's to Master's Program for Public Health, which allowed her to earn both degrees simultaneously. During her time at UAB, Sarah held multiple leadership positions and coordinated the Biology Learning Assistant program. She was also involved with various research projects aimed at reducing racial disparities in healthcare, which contributed to her desire to pursue healthcare administration. Sarah has also managed clinical trial enrollment and recruitment as a research associate with the UAB Department of Emergency Medicine and served as a COVID-19 case investigator with the ADPH. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Health Administration at UAB. She hopes to gain the knowledge and skills needed to become a compassionate and effective leader in healthcare. In her free time, Sarah loves spending time with family and friends, running, reading, and shopping.
Taj Robinson
Taj was born in Schweinfurt, Germany but grew up in Columbus, Georgia. She graduated from UAB with a B.S. in medical sociology and a minor in public health in 2022. Her own healthcare experiences sparked her passion for creating an improved U.S. healthcare system. By pursuing a master's in health administration, she plans to use and apply her knowledge globally by learning from systems outside of the U.S. to create positive change within the U.S. for everyone who uses healthcare systems. In her free time, she enjoys playing rugby, bowling, gardening, and Muay Thai.
Terrell Harris
Terrell is a native of Dothan AL. He graduated from Troy University and obtained a degree in Exercise Science with a pre-health concentration. During his time at Troy, Terrell was involved in numerous organizations on campus and within the community. After he graduated, he worked as a rehab technician in the healthcare field. Through this experience, he learned administrative and clinical values, which led him to develop a passion for healthcare administration. Terrell wants to improve the modern healthcare system and facilitate therapeutic alliances to ensure the best care for patients. He is thankful for the opportunity to pursue a master€™s degree in healthcare administration at such a prestigious and well-known institution. Terrell is a former athlete who loves to spend time watching sports, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Tina Wang
Tina was born in New York and moved to Clanton, AL at the age of 10. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Finance. While at Auburn, Tina took on various leadership roles and was actively involved in multiple honors societies. Her passion for healthcare grew from her experience as a CNA and PCT during high school, where she gained experience by volunteering at nursing homes and hospitals, while obtaining her certifications. Tina hopes to leverage her academic and professional experiences to enhance patient experience, elevate the quality of care, and optimize hospital operations and outcomes. Currently, she serves as the Vice President of Finance for Class 59. During her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, shopping, and trying new restaurants.
Will Merrill
Will grew up in Montgomery, Al and attended Auburn University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. Following graduation, he worked as the Clinic Manager for UAB Medical West Neurology while completing his Master of Business Administration at UAB Collat School of Business. Will is currently a member of UAB MSHA Class 59 and also pursuing a Master of Science in Healthcare Informatics with the purpose of being a future oriented leader in an ever-changing technological landscape.
Zachary Seid-Phan
Zachary grew up in Saratoga, California, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Olaf College in Minnesota, with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. Before entering the UAB MSHA program, Zachary held a leadership position at a food bank and worked as an EMT. Now, he is pursuing a dual MSHA/MBA degree here at UAB, where he is known for being a high-achieving, likable person. He is well on his way to becoming a great leader. Outside of school, Zachary enjoys spending time in nature, playing chess, and participating in sports like basketball, golf, and badminton.
Nicholas Lang
Nicholas Lang, a Morristown, NJ native, is currently pursuing his Master's in Healthcare Administration at UAB, building upon his undergraduate studies in Leadership & Management at Rutgers University. With a passion for healthcare management, Nicholas gained valuable experience during an internship at Encompass Health, where he worked in business development. This experience solidified his commitment to driving innovation and efficiency to create growth within healthcare organizations. Nicholas is known for his dedication to community service and actively seeks opportunities to make a positive impact. He envisions leveraging his skills to assume leadership roles and implement strategic initiatives to optimize healthcare operations and improve patient care.

Olivia Bethel
Olivia Bethel is from the suburbs of Philadelphia. In 2023 she graduated cum laude from West Chester with a B.S. in Health Sciences. During her undergraduate studies, she interned at the Urban League of Philadelphia, where she realized her passion for healthcare administration. Following graduation, Olivia completed a year of service with AmeriCorps’ National Health Corps program. Here, she served as a Patient Navigator at the Frazier Family Coalition for Stroke Education and Prevention — a collaboration between Temple Health and Thomas Jefferson University. While in AmeriCorps, she was also a member of the Training and Professional Development Committee. Upon completing her MSHA program, Olivia plans to continue working in community health, focusing on reducing healthcare disparities in urban hospital settings. In her free time, Olivia enjoys trying new restaurants, cooking or baking, and watching TV series.
Benjamin Blake
Benjamin was born in Corvallis, Oregon. He graduated from Brigham Young University – Idaho with a B.S. in Healthcare Administration and a certificate in Leadership Skills. Throughout his undergraduate career, Benjamin was an active member of his community. He led group mental wellness seminars under the supervision of a licensed recreational therapist, volunteered with a local women’s health clinic to provide various services as an administrative assistant, and delivered meals to community members in need throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. At UAB Medical Center, Benjamin serves as an intern for the Department of Patient Services. He has found interest in process improvement, patient experience, and strategy, and seeks to carry out his mission of assisting in providing memorable positive experiences to patients. Outside of Healthcare, Benjamin enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, and spending time with his family.
Sean Brunner
Originally from Madison, Alabama, Sean Brunner holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Applied Exercise Physiology from the University of North Alabama, where he maintained a 3.70 GPA. Passionate about wellness and holistic healthcare, Sean advocates for approaches that benefit the community's well-being. His practical experience includes an internship at Drayer Physical Therapy Institute, where he supported patients in exercise therapy, as well as a role in the Disney College Program, delivering top-tier guest services. Outside of work, Sean enjoys hiking, attending concerts, and watching sports, and excels in communication and teamwork.
Sarah Collier
Sarah is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated with honors from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in French. Throughout her undergraduate years, she served as the Philanthropy Chair of her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, which inspired her to become a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Alabama. She was a volunteer for the Good Samaritan Clinic, a faith-based clinic providing care for the medically underserved. She was a Research Assistant for the Psychology Department on a study examining the benefits of cognitive reappraisal, as well as a fitness trainer at F45. She is currently a Junior Board member of the Autism Support of Alabama. Since joining the MSHA program, Sarah has found value in serving Class 60 as the Vice President of Philanthropy and through her workforce experience, where she learns about nursing quality and value. She is passionate about enhancing healthcare facilities to ensure both quality, patient-centered care and a collaborative environment for staff. In her free time, Sarah enjoys pickleball, tennis, travelling, cooking, and watching football.
Sam Cowart
Sam was born and raised in Prattville, Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Management with a concentration in Healthcare Analytics, along with a minor in Management Communications. Sam’s involvement at UA included serving as the Director of Health and Wellness for UA’s Student Government Association, Director of Operations and Logistics for UA Homecoming’s Executive Board, Treasurer for the Healthcare Analytics Society, and Servant Team member for Reformed University Fellowship (RUF). He also has experience as a Peer Health Education Intern for UA’s Department of Health Promotion and Wellness. Sam gained healthcare exposure by working as a Guest Coordinator at his hometown hospital, and he interned with HCA’s healthcare revenue cycle management company, Parallon, during the summer of 2023. Sam is passionate about ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and hopes to create positive change within the healthcare system. In his free time, Sam loves pickleball, traveling, and going on walks with friends.
Lauren Crain
Lauren Crain grew up in Odenville, AL, and graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi College with a degree in finance. During her time there, she served as President of the Investment Fund, managing a substantial portfolio. Lauren has diverse experience across healthcare sectors, including pharmacy, large group physician practices, banking analytics, and a healthcare startup. Through the MSHA/MBA program, she aims to expand her expertise in healthcare with a focus on hospital finance, operations, and ambulatory services. Currently, she serves as VP of Finance for Class 60 and looks forward to competing in the Penn State Case Competition. Lauren is an active member of both the Medical Group Management Association and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and savoring a good cup of coffee.
Taylor Danser
Taylor is a Charlotte, NC native who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Furman University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. During his undergraduate experience, Taylor was involved in many organizations, including Furman Admissions, the Student Alumni Council, and Heller Service Corps. All of these strengthened Taylor's desire to build relationships and help underserved populations. Having also completed an administrative internship with Truist Financial, Taylor has experience in the financial sector and aims to utilize this knowledge as it pertains to healthcare. Between his passion for public health solutions and love of world economics, he strives to provide a positive impact through hospital or surgery center work, particularly from a financial perspective. In his free time, you can find Taylor on the golf course, trying new places to eat, or watching his favorite sports teams.
Nick Estes
Nick was born and raised in Sherman, Texas. He attended Austin College in his hometown of Sherman, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Political Science and Health Care Administration. During his time at AC, Nick served as the program lead for the Posey Leadership Award, a head delegate for Austin College Model United Nations, an intern in the Institutional Marketing and Communications department, a Sumners Scholar, a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha political science honor society, and a peer mentor for first-year Public Health students. He also served for three years as the student director of the Intramural Sports program, and (perhaps his proudest accomplishment) won two intramural championships in his college career. At the conclusion of his senior year, Nick was elected by his peers as the student speaker for the Austin College graduation ceremony. Nick is pursuing an MSHA/MBA dual degree at UAB, and he was elected as the VP of Social Affairs for UAB MSHA Class 60. More recently, he received a workforce placement into the office of the Chief of Pharmacy at UAB Hospital. Upon the completion of his education in beautiful Birmingham, Alabama, Nick plans to pursue a career in pediatric hospital operations.
Delaney Field
Delaney Field grew up in Howell, Michigan before attending Arizona State University. Delaney graduated Summa Cum Laude from Barrett, The Honors College with a Bachelor's of Science in Biological (Biomedical) Sciences and a certificate in Cross-Sector Leadership. During her time at ASU, she participated in various internships in the public, private and non-profit sectors and was involved in undergraduate research. She completed her thesis her senior year at ASU which focused on charisma research, and the impact charisma can have to motivate others to feel a sense of belonging and community. She is currently working towards a dual degree, including a Master’s in Health Informatics. Delaney is currently working as an Intern in the Heart and Vascular Center at UAB Medicine. She hopes to utilize these degrees and experiences to work towards her goal of creating a healthcare setting focused on patient-centered care, and using charisma to improve overall community health. In her free time she enjoys exploring, cooking and watching whichever reality tv show is in season.
Ellie Gilmore
Ellie is a native of Montgomery, AL. She attended University of Alabama where she graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Public Health and minors in Management and General Business. Ellie was a presidential scholar and named to the President’s and Dean’s Lists. During her time at UA, Ellie was a program instructor for the Culverhouse College of Business Honors Learning Initiative and Financial Training (LIFT), a member of Restored University Fellowship’s Student Outreach Team, a mentor in the Engage Tuscaloosa BRIGHT Program, and a Committee Chair for Membership/Education for Kappa Delta Sorority. She was a member of Golden Key International, Order of Omega, and Phi Sigma Theta honor societies. Ellie completed a summer internship at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, AL. She has also worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Office of Lucius B. Freeman, M.D. in Prattville, AL and a runner at Capell & Howard, P.C., Montgomery, AL. She hopes to use this foundation in health and business administration to make a positive impact on the communities she will one day serve.
Zoe Graves
Zoe Graves, a 25-year-old from Laurel, Mississippi, has always been passionate about helping others through her work in the medical field. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2021 and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Health Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Zoe's career has been marked by diverse roles, including her current position as a Medical Technologist at UAB Medicine, where she handles complex lab procedures and plays a critical role in quality improvement initiatives. Her work experience spans from clinical operations at Petal Family Practice to traveling medical technologist roles across different locations. Zoe also enjoys everything related to movies, music, and 90s pop culture, which fuels her creative spirit outside of her demanding career.
Jameson Hermann
Jameson grew up in Wallingford, CT, and later moved to Lexington, SC. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2024, with a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management. During his time at UAB, he served as President of the Health Care Management Student Association and was inducted into UAB’s undergraduate chapter of Upsilon Phi Delta. During his senior year, he worked within UAB’s Clinical Informatics department training new hires at UAB on how to use Oracle Cerner. Through this internship, he also reignited his passion for human resources. Jameson now serves as Class 60’s Vice President of Fundraising Development, and serves on the Access, Belonging, and Engagement Committee. He currently works for the Facilities, Maintenance, and Emergency Management department at UAB Hospital as an administrative intern. In his free time, he enjoys exploring Birmingham (especially looking for new places to eat!), and hanging out with friends.
Cheyenne Jackson
Cheyenne is originally from Athens, AL. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major of Economics and Finance with a concentration of Finance from the University of South Alabama. During her time at South, Cheyenne was involved within the Mitchell College of Business as a student worker, student analyst in the Jaguar Investment Fund, a Mitchell Ambassador, and as an undergraduate researcher. She was a part of three research projects and one of her papers was awarded a Student Research Award at the Society of Business, Industry, and Economics (SOBIE) Conference. Cheyenne was also involved in her sorority, Kappa Delta, where she held multiple leadership roles. She found her interest within the healthcare field when she was in high school and obtained her Patient Care Technician license senior year. Once she got to South, she realized that she loved the business aspect of the field, which lead her into healthcare administration. Cheyenne is on the dual MSHA/MBA course.
Ethan Jagnandan
Ethan is from Forsyth County, Georgia located an hour north of Atlanta. He spent his undergraduate career at Utah State University (USU), graduating with a BS in Operations Management in 2024. While in undergrad, Ethan worked as a patient registration specialist at Logan Regional Hospital, as a compliance assistant in a mental health clinic on USU’s campus, and completed an internship with Stryker as part of their sourcing team. He also volunteered with USU Special Olympics as a program leader and coach. He is currently a single-degree student pursuing his MSHA. Since starting at UAB, Ethan has enjoyed working as part of UAB Medicine’s Supply Chain and Resource Utilization team. He is also a subcommittee leader for the program’s Access, Belonging, and Engagement committee. Ethan has found passion and motivation through striving to improve the patient experience. He appreciates the dynamic nature of healthcare and the many ways in which an impact can be made. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, playing golf, watching Georgia football, and going to the movies.
Kristina Johnson
Kristina, a Birmingham, Alabama native, graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.S. in Public Health and a minor in Health Information Management. During her time at UAB, Kristina was actively involved in various extracurricular activities, including Trio Student Support Service, McNair, First Impact, STEP-UP research program, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. After graduating in May 2021, Kristina worked for Pack Health, a Quest Diagnostic Company, for almost 3 years as a Health Coach. This role allowed her to apply her public health knowledge in a practical setting, helping individuals regain control over their health. She has also held several positions as a medical assistant. Kristina's passion lies in addressing health disparities, patient experience, and quality care. She currently serves as the Vice President of Access, Belonging, and Engagement for Class 60 within the MSHA program. In her free time, Kristina enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, binge-watching TV, and spending time with her family and friends.
Bernard Lisy
Bernard, originally from Chattanooga, TN, graduated Summa Cum Laude with High Distinguished Honors from The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Collat School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution with a Concentration in Medical Equipment and Supplies Distribution. During his four undergraduate years, he was also able to complete a Master of Business Administration (MBA) through the Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s Program. Bernard held many leadership positions throughout his time in undergrad including being the President of the Business Student Leaders, President of the Society of Distribution Leaders, and a Dean’s Office Student Assistant. Additionally, Bernard was able to gain a wide range of healthcare working experiences. He completed a summer internship at CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN, worked as an administrative volunteer at Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham, AL, and completed the Commercial Leadership Program Internship at GE HealthCare in Milwaukee, WI. Bernard aspires to utilize his diverse experiences and knowledge to help solve healthcare’s most pressing challenges.
Logan Marler
Logan Marler, originally from Headland, Alabama, graduated Cum Laude and as a University Honors Scholar from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration and a minor in Business. During his undergraduate studies, Logan worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant with faculty in the Departments of Political Science and Industrial and Systems Engineering. The summer before graduation, he interned under the CEO of Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, sparking his interest in pursuing a master's degree at UAB. Following graduation, Logan returned to Andrews Sports Medicine as a Patient Services Liaison before beginning his dual MSHA/MBA studies at UAB. He is an active member of the Upsilon Phi Delta Honorary Society, the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). He currently serves as the 2024-2025 Chief of Staff for the UAB Graduate Student Government. Logan continues to engage in research as a Graduate Research Assistant in UAB's Department of Health Services Administration. He also serves as an Administrative Intern with UAB Health System's Department of Clinical Network Development under the Vice President of Affiliate Operations and Network Development. In his free time, Logan enjoys spending time with friends and family and cheering for his alma mater during football season.
Khushee Modi
Khushee Modi, a Birmingham, AL native, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution. During her undergraduate years, she gained valuable clinical experience as a Patient Care Technician in the emergency department and as a Medical Assistant at an internal medicine clinic. Khushee also volunteered at the Community of Hope Health Clinic, providing free healthcare to underserved populations. Though she has a strong clinical background, Khushee aims to transition into clinical operations, where she can impact patient care through an administrative lens. Currently pursuing her Master of Science in Health Administration at UAB, she proudly serves as the Class 60 President, leading her cohort with a focus on collaboration and growth. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Khushee enjoys baking, traveling, and cheering on her favorite college football teams.
Destiny O'Ree
Destiny is a native of Birmingham, AL. She graduated cum laude from the University of South Alabama with a B.S. in Professional Health Sciences, concentrating in Healthcare Management. Before entering the MSHA Program, Destiny gained valuable experience as a medical scribe at Springhill Medical Center, where she developed a keen understanding of clinical operations and patient care. In addition, she served as a teaching assistant and completed a summer internship at Baldwin Bone and Joint, P.C., which provided her with insights into healthcare management practices. She has also volunteered with the American Red Cross, USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, and currently volunteers with the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama.She also works as an intern in the Office of Employee Access and Workforce Development at UAB Hospital. Destiny’s ultimate goal is to enhance the health and well-being of individuals and communities from a non-clinical perspective. She is passionate about improving healthcare delivery processes to ensure efficiency and high-quality patient care. Destiny enjoys yoga, shopping, and socializing with friends.
Katherine Perkins
Katherine Perkins, from Montgomery, Alabama, is pursuing a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration and Healthcare Informatics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology from Auburn University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2024. During her undergraduate years, Katherine was actively involved in research, exploring topics such as autism spectrum disorder and multiple sclerosis. In addition to her studies, she has volunteered with The Campus Kitchen and the Beat Bama Food Drive, supporting her community through service. Her career aspirations include leading initiatives to improve healthcare delivery through technology and data-driven solutions. Outside of academics and work, Katherine enjoys reading, cooking, and staying active through hiking and fitness.
Teneshia Portis
Teneshia Portis hails from Greensboro, AL, but over the past five years, she has called Washington, DC, New Orleans, Arkansas, and most recently, Houston, TX, home. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Informatics and Analytics from George Washington University. Currently, she serves as the Vice President of External Relations for Class 60. Throughout her career, she has worked in diverse sectors, including health departments, a nonprofit, a women's shelter, and hospitals. Most recently, she completed an internship with the federal government, focusing on an integrated primary prevention program. She is passionate about healthcare access, strategy, innovation, operations, and process improvement, with aspirations of reaching the C-Suite. Her ultimate goal is to leave every place she engages with better than she found it, creating meaningful change in the communities she serves. Outside the classroom, she enjoys traveling and adventure activities such as jet skiing and zip lining.
Courtney Reed
Courtney Reed, originally from Houston, TX, graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in May 2024 with a B.A. in Health & Society and a minor in Healthcare Reform and Innovation. She is a current member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and was involved in the Black Women Wellness Organization and Partners in Health Engage during undergrad. Courtney developed a passion for pediatric care while working at Pediatric Associates of Austin as a Nurse Assistant and Referral Coordinator. She also led a service-learning project at Julia’s Center for Healthcare, helping optimize their appointment system and enhance social media. Committed to serving underserved communities, she worked as a Federally-Certified Marketplace Navigator at Foundation Communities, helping low-income Austin residents enroll in healthcare. After the MSHA program, Courtney plans to pursue a career in Maternal/Women's Care or Pediatrics, focusing on patient quality and safety. In her free time, she enjoys watching TV, trying new foods, and spending time with friends and family.
Natalie Reeves
Natalie is from a small town in North Louisiana. She graduated from Louisiana State University in 2022 with a degree in Business Management. It was here that she discovered a growing interest towards healthcare administration. During college she worked as a human resources intern for a large health system. After graduating, Natalie began working in advertising where she learned many business and leadership skills. Since joining the program, Natalie has begun immersing herself in the world of healthcare, learning all that she can each step of the way. Her workforce program has proved to be insightful, getting a behind the scenes glimpse into hospital regulatory affairs. She’s most interested in the quantitative metrics that drive healthcare decision. In her free time, she enjoys going to the lake or hunting camp, cooking, or attending a workout class.
Lela Ridley
Lela, originally from Huntsville, Alabama, graduated Cum Laude from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration and a minor in Business. She held various leadership roles throughout her academic journey at Auburn, notably as Vice President of Philanthropy for the Health and Hospital Administration Organization. During her undergraduate tenure, Lela also gained diverse healthcare experience by working at East Alabama Medical Center within the Human Resources Department. During seasonal breaks back home, she worked as an office assistant at Rocket City Kids Pediatric Dental, where she developed insights into private practice management. Before graduating, Lela completed an undergraduate internship with Kassouf Healthcare Solutions, a comprehensive medical practice management firm that provides expert business leadership to physician practices. Lela is an active member of the Upsilon Phi Delta Honorary Society, the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). She is expanding her healthcare experience as a Workforce Administrative Intern with UAB Health System’s Vice President of Facilities & Real Estate. As an MSHA candidate, Lela is committed to improving the patient experience through policy and innovation in healthcare delivery. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Alexandra Sass
Alexandra is from Brentwood, Tennessee. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. During her undergraduate career, Alexandra served as the Director of Communication and President for the Society for Human Resource Management. Alexandra was recognized as a John C. Stophel Distinguished Scholar by the Gary W. Rollins College of Business. She was an active member in Chi Omega and served as a volunteer at Erlanger Baroness Hospital through the Service Learning Program. Alexandra has had valuable summer internship experiences, interning with The Institute for Cultural Engagement, Erlanger East Hospital, and BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. Alexandra is honored to serve as the Vice President of Recruitment for Class 60, and she is eager to enhance the patient experience through her work in the Office of Patient Experience and Engagement. She is passionate about improving access to care and advancing health equity in underserved communities. Outside of her academics, Alexandra loves to travel and spend time outdoors with family.
Clayton Sheppard
Clayton Sheppard is originally from Chowchilla, California. He attended Brigham Young University - Idaho and graduated with a Bachelor's in Healthcare Administration in 2023. During his studies, he completed an administrative internship at Madison Memorial Hospital, where he developed a passion for improving healthcare systems. Clayton has held a variety of roles in both the healthcare and financial industries. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Clayton worked as a Senior Sales Leader for Progrexion in the financial sector and as a Sales Development Representative for Podium, focusing on healthcare software solutions. Following graduation, Clayton took on the role of Physician Recruiter for CompHealth, a division of CHG Healthcare. Clayton is driven by a desire to work in operations, where he can directly impact care delivery and implement initiatives that create meaningful change for both patients and the community. Outside of his professional and academic pursuits, Clayton enjoys playing and watching all sports, traveling, and spending time with his wife and son.
Emory Swafford
Emory Swafford is from Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Business Management with a concentration in Healthcare Analytics and a minor in Management Communication. Throughout her undergraduate career, Emory held multiple leadership positions in the Healthcare Analytics Society and at her sorority, Chi Omega. While maintaining her education, she completed an Internship at VIVA Health, further developing her interest in healthcare. Since joining the program, Emory has deeply valued her workforce placement, gaining Acute Therapy Care experience, and being active on the MSHA Accessible Approaches committee. Outside of school, Emory enjoys cooking, traveling, and watching SEC football.
Kayla Turk
Kayla is from the small town of Springville, Alabama. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2022. During her undergraduate years, she was a member of the Health Scholars Academy for Addressing Health Disparities through Leadership, Social Media Manager for the Healthcare Management Student Association, and she also obtained her real estate license during this time. She accepted the opportunity to be a clinic manager after receiving her degree, and managed urgent care clinics briefly before deciding she wanted to pursue her master’s degree. She currently works as a Unit Secretary in the University Emergency Department at UAB, which sparked her interest of joining the MSHA program to focus on expanding access to care and improving patient quality and safety. In her free time, she enjoys going on scenic walks, binging rug cleaning videos, and traveling with friends.
Angelina Unich
Angelina Unich is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. She graduated Magna Cum Laude, with Distinguished Honors, earning a B.S. in Health Care Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2024. During her undergraduate years, Angelina served her community as a Peer Wellness Ambassador in Student Housing and Residence Life and as a Family Care Specialist with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama, showcasing her early commitment to healthcare access. She also completed an administrative internship with the Kolbe Clinic, where she attained useful credentialing skills. These experiences furthered her passion for healthcare leadership, leading her to pursue an MSHA degree at UAB’s School of Health Professions. Through the program, she aims to enhance her knowledge and develop her professional skillset. Angelina aspires to become an administrator focusing on quality and safety. Her goal is to expand healthcare access to underserved communities. Angelina enjoys hiking, antiquing, and spending time with her loved ones.
Savannah Williams
Savannah is from Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated Cum Laude as a first-generation student from the University of West Alabama, majoring in Health Sciences. During her time as an undergraduate, she ran track earning all-region and all-academic honors. Savannah was actively involved on her school's campus serving as President of the Rural Health Association and being a part of several different organizations on campus. She is a part of several honor societies and is also an active member of her sorority servicing the community. Before the start of the MSHA program, Savannah gained experience in various non-clinical administrative roles, most recently at The Kirklin Clinic. After graduation, she aspires to reduce health disparities and promote health equity as a health administrator.

Kyanna Montoya
Kyanna was born in Long Island, New York, and was raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated from the University of West Florida with a B.S. in Healthcare Administration and a minor in Health Promotion in 2024. While at UWF, Kyanna was involved with and held leadership positions in various extracurricular activities. She was Student Body Vice President, Foundation Board Member, and a co-founder of the largest student organization (SAGE). Kyanna worked as a surgical coordinator for Nemours Children’s Health and completed internships with UCONN Health, UCLA School of Medicine, and Studer Family Children’s Hospital. In her free time, she enjoys going to dance classes and traveling. Kyanna aims to leverage her academic and professional experiences to improve patient understanding, advance high-quality care, address health disparities, and reduce inefficiencies within the healthcare system.
Alexander Owens
Alexander (Alex) Owens grew up an Army brat and spent time everywhere from Hawaii to Kansas City, MO, before graduating from high school just outside of West Point, NY. Upon graduation, Alex enrolled at the University of Alabama, where he received the presidential scholarship and became an active member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He earned his undergraduate degree in public health and amassed over 300 volunteer hours at DCH Regional Medical Center before interning there during his 5th year at the capstone, spent earning an MPH.
Upon graduating with his Master of Public Health, Alex began his journey in health administration as a member of class 61 in UAB's MSHA program. Alex is an aspiring healthcare professional dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and fostering long-term relationships with the people he serves. He holds a deep passion for improving patient outcomes and experiences while striving to always provide high-quality care.
In his spare time, Alex enjoys watching Alabama Crimson Tide, cooking, spending time with his dogs, weightlifting, and snowboarding.
Alan Gardner
Alan Gardner was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and spent his childhood between New Orleans, Louisiana, and Birmingham, Alabama. He earned his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience with a minor in chemistry, graduating summa cum laude with high distinction. Before graduate school, Alan worked as a Medical Assistant in the Neurosurgery Department at Ochsner Medical Center and as a Patient Care Technician at UAB Hospital, experiences that strengthened his interest in healthcare leadership. He is now pursuing a dual Master of Science in Health Administration and Master of Business Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham as a member of Residential MSHA Class 61. Alan co-leads the Access Subcommittee within the Access, Belonging, and Engagement Council and co-founded the Open Doors Initiative, an outreach effort focused on increasing awareness of lesser-known healthcare careers among students from diverse backgrounds. Outside of school, he enjoys running, fitness, photography, and spending time with friends and family. After graduation, he hopes to pursue a career in healthcare leadership.
Chasity Hooker
"Chasity Hooker is from Dallas, Texas, and is currently pursuing a dual Master of Science in Health Administration and Master of Business Administration (MSHA/MBA) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma. During her undergraduate studies, Chasity served as the Oxley College of Health and Natural Sciences Student Ambassador and Governance Speaker, where she represented the college, engaged with the community, and helped inspire prospective healthcare students. Throughout her nursing education, she completed more than 253 hours of clinical experience across several healthcare settings, including the operating room, labor and delivery, and the intensive care unit.
Chasity currently works as a Registered Nurse in critical care, where she continues to strengthen her clinical and operational expertise. Through the MSHA/MBA program, she hopes to transition into healthcare leadership roles focused on improving hospital operations, enhancing patient outcomes, and expanding access to high-quality care. In her free time, Chasity enjoys trying new restaurants, shopping, traveling, and staying active through Pilates and weightlifting. "
Rachel Stephens
Rachel is originally from Naperville, Illinois, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Management, and a concentration in Healthcare Analytics. During her time at Alabama, Rachel was actively involved in several organizations, including the Healthcare Analytics Society, Professional Women in Communication and Business, and Pi Beta Phi sorority. Rachel’s passion for healthcare stems from her desire to help others and promote high-quality patient care and improved access through effective healthcare leadership. Rachel is currently pursuing a dual MSHA/MBA degree and hopes to make a meaningful impact as a future healthcare leader. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, and working out.
Praneel Kamaiah
Praneel Kamaiah is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina. He earned his B.S. in Healthcare Management in 2024 and his M.S. in Health Informatics in 2025, both from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During his undergraduate years, Praneel was a member of the Health Care Management Student Association, where he served first as Secretary and later as Vice President. Alongside his undergraduate studies, he worked as a Patient Transporter at UAB Hospital. He also completed two internships in healthcare IT, as a Clinical Technologies Intern at Encompass Health and a Product Analyst Intern at HCA Healthcare, which shaped his interest in the role technology plays in healthcare delivery and operations. Currently, Praneel is an intern with the Clinical Transformation Office at UAB Hospital and a graduate assistant with the Executive MSHA program. Outside of academics and work, Praneel enjoys watching TV, keeping up with sports, travelling, and learning about history.
Byron Millsap
Byron Millsap was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management. During his time at UAB, Byron held several leadership roles, including serving as Vice President of the Healthcare Management Student Association and as an Ambassador for the School of Health Professions. He has also participated in impactful programs and service opportunities such as the NAHSE Mentorship Program, the Health Equity Leadership Academy, and community service with SCORE International Dominican Baseball Outreach and Smile-A-Mile’s Siblings Camp. Byron is passionate about improving healthcare systems through stronger leadership, greater health equity, and better access to care. He hopes to create meaningful change in healthcare administration while empowering others to pursue leadership and service. He currently serves as the President of Class 61. In his free time, Byron enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, journaling, trying different coffee shops, and lifting.
Seth Hardy
"Seth Hardy is a graduate student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham pursuing a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration and a Master of Business Administration. He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Management and Marketing from Oklahoma State University, along with minors in Human Resources and Business Sustainability.
At UAB, Seth serves as an Administrative Intern with UAB Medicine, supporting operational initiatives and contributing to projects that enhance the patient experience, including hospital wayfinding improvements. He also works as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, where he supports course instruction by grading assignments, assisting students with coursework, and reinforcing key concepts.
Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Seth brings a strong foundation in leadership, service, and teamwork. He has gained experience in both human resources and sales, which has helped shape his interest in improving healthcare systems. Outside of his academic and professional work, Seth enjoys playing tennis and pickleball with friends.
He is driven to pursue a career in healthcare administration where he can make a meaningful impact on both patients and healthcare teams."
Anna Claire Manson
Anna Claire Manson graduated cum laude from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and a minor in Sociology. Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, she developed a passion for healthcare during her undergraduate internship in Marketing and Communications at Woman’s Hospital. During this experience, she contributed to the grand opening of Louisiana’s first Perinatal Mental Health Unit, further strengthening her commitment to improving community health. Anna Claire is actively involved as a student associate of the American College of Healthcare Executives, where she continues to build meaningful connections within the healthcare field. Outside of academics and professional work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and staying active. She is currently a dual master’s student pursuing both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Health Administration. Upon completion of her programs, Anna Claire aspires to pursue a leadership role in healthcare administration, where she can drive meaningful improvements in patient outcomes and positively impact her community.
Kendall Gilreath
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Kendall Gilreath graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2025 with a degree in Health Care Management and a minor in Health Information Management. During her time at UAB, she served as Co-President of the Health Care Management Student Association while working as a Unit Secretary in the UAB Main Emergency Department. She also gained experience in risk management and skilled nursing administration through two administrative internships. Kendall is passionate about promoting evidence-based decision-making, particularly in resource-limited environments. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Birmingham’s newest coffee shops, walking local trails, and spending time with family and friends.
Jada Johnson
Jada Johnson is a proud native of Huntsville, Alabama. She attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and a minor in Health Information Management. During her undergraduate years, Jada was deeply involved on campus, serving as President of the Black Student Awareness Committee, Co-Lead of the Blazer Mentorship Collective, a member of the Student Advisory Board, and a member of the Healthcare Management Student Association. She also held multiple executive roles in her undergraduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated during her undergraduate career. Outside of academics, Jada enjoys spending quality time with friends and family and finds such fulfillment serving alongside the children at her church. Currently, she works as a Secretary at Children's of Alabama's Endocrine Clinic, supporting specialized pediatric patient care, and serves as the Belonging Boldly Subcommittee Lead for Class 61 in the program. Looking ahead, Jada aspires to be a well-rounded pediatric healthcare administrator, intentionally advocating for the quality of care the next generation receives.
Abby Watkins
Abby Watkins is an MSHA/MBA student from Gadsden, Alabama. She attended Auburn University, where she majored in Health Administration and minored in Business Administration. There, she was a member of the Health and Hospital Administration Organization (HHAO) and competed in the MUSC Undergraduate Health Administration Case Competition. She enjoys watching movies, trying new restaurants, and doing puzzles! Abby hopes to use her skills and education to improve access to healthcare through outreach and policy reform.
Byron Swetman
Byron Swetman is from Latimer, MS, on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. In 2025, Byron graduated from the University of Mississippi, having studied computer science and manufacturing. He completed internships with Keurig Dr Pepper and PepsiCo, focusing on production and warehouse operations. Byron served as an Ole Miss Ambassador, Chair of the Haley Barbour Center for Manufacturing Excellence, and President of RebelTHON: an annual fundraiser for Children’s of Mississippi. He now serves as Class 61’s Vice President of Fundraising and Development. Byron is passionate about improving outcomes for patients in the South, particularly among women and children. Byron enjoys watching the Ole Miss Rebels and New Orleans Saints, cooking meals for loved ones, and spending time in Oxford and Biloxi.
Luke Byrd
Luke is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in health services administration and a minor in business administration. He graduated as an Upsilon Phi Delta honors student and enjoyed four years as a member of the Auburn University Marching Band. Before joining UAB as a member of MSHA Class 61, Luke gained experience in diverse roles such as interning with HCA’s CareNow strategy team and working as an administrative assistant in utilization management at EdiPhy Advisors. Now, he serves as Class 61’s elected financial officer and looks forward to earning his coordinated MSHA and MBA degrees. Luke seeks to improve healthcare access by balancing equitable and high-quality care delivery with sustainable business practices using the skills he obtains from both degree programs. In addition to his passion for healthcare, Luke enjoys a wide range of hobbies such as watching old movies, playing guitar, reading sci-fi books, and spending time outdoors.
Allison Lopez Orellana
Allison was born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and moved to the United States at age 12, where she grew up in Lodi, NJ. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Montclair State University, graduating Cum Laude. During her undergraduate studies, she completed a community outreach internship at a hospital in New Jersey. After graduation, Allison worked at the Diabetes Foundation, where she contributed to community-based programs while supporting operations and grant-related efforts. Through this work, she gained experience in program coordination, outreach, and organizational planning, further strengthening her passion for improving access to care. This experience inspired her to pursue a dual MSHA/MBA at UAB. Allison aspires to work in hospital operations, where she can improve efficiency, enhance patient care delivery, contribute to strategic initiatives, and help expand access to care. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, working out, and spending time with family and friends.
Jared M. Ewell
"Jared, a native of Yucaipa, California, earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Brigham Young University. During his undergraduate studies, he intentionally pursued experiential learning opportunities, including shadowing healthcare leaders to better understand the industry and refine his career goals. He was actively involved in the BYU Healthcare Leadership Association and served as Secretary for The Cougar Chronicle, an off-campus, student-led news outlet. He completed an internship at CommonSpirit Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he contributed to community outreach initiatives and developed a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to help guide resource allocation and strengthen community engagement.
Following graduation, Jared returned to Southern California and served as a Quality Coordinator in the Patient Quality and Safety Department at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. In this role, he collaborated with clinical and executive teams to support program development and education across initiatives in ECMO, pediatric sepsis and stroke, health equity, hospital-acquired conditions, wound care, and clinical practice councils.
Currently, Jared works as a graduate intern in the Department of Radiology. Outside of academics, he enjoys reading, travel planning, and playing pickleball."
Kyoko Hamagata
Kyoko grew up internationally - spending her early years in Japan and Brazil before moving to Lexington, Kentucky. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Human Health Sciences. While at UK, she served as an Ambassador for the College of Health Sciences and helped launch the Discovery Healthcare Program, reflecting her commitment to supporting future healthcare professionals. She also conducted research with the Center for Muscle Biology, studying aging and muscle atrophy. Through her academic, research, and leadership experiences, she developed a strong interest in healthcare and is particularly passionate about advocating for mental health. She is excited to make a meaningful impact in healthcare by promoting accessible, patient-centered care and supporting initiatives that improve overall well-being. In her free time, she enjoys reading, staying active (recently taking up adult ballet), and exploring new restaurants around Birmingham!
Alaa Abukhazneh
"Alaa is originally from California, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Public Health from the University of California, Davis in 2019. During her undergraduate studies, Alaa held multiple leadership roles, with her most meaningful involvement as a volunteer at Shifa Community Clinic, where she served the underserved populations in Sacramento and developed a strong commitment to equitable care.
Following graduation, Alaa worked as a Lead Patient Care Coordinator at a home health agency before transitioning to the California Prison Industry Authority as a Data Analyst. There, she gained extensive experience in healthcare analytics, building dashboards and conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses to support decision-making.
Currently pursuing her dual MSHA/MSHI at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alaa is passionate about bridging the gap between technology and patient-centered care through data-driven innovation. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new coffee shops, going on walks, and spending time with family and friends. She aspires to lead initiatives that strengthen healthcare delivery, improve access, and drive system-wide equity."
Micah Dennis
"Micah Dennis is from Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Public Health: Promotion from Liberty University, where he was recognized on the Dean’s List and actively engaged in student life. During his undergraduate years, Micah was a Division I NCAA track and field athlete and a member of the Public Health Student Association. He also served his community through Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Feed the Need. During his undergraduate studies, Micah completed an Occupational & Wellness Administrative Internship with Centra Health, where he supported clinical operations and contributed to process improvement and community health education efforts. These experiences sparked his passion for enhancing the patient experience and finding ways to connect hearts and minds to humanize healthcare.
Outside of his school and work, Micah enjoys outdoor activities and a good movie. Following the MSHA program, he aspires to expand access to care, uplift underserved communities, and invest in children’s health to empower the next generation."
Hailey Zachariah
Hailey Zachariah is from Nashville, TN. She graduated Cum Laude from Miami University in 2025 with a B.A. in Psychology and minors in General Business and Human Capital Management and Leadership (HCML). During her time at Miami, Hailey held multiple student leadership positions. She served as the co-founder and Vice President of Miami University's chapter of Girl Gains, the Vice President and co-founder of Miami University's chapter of Delta Kappa Delta Sorority, Inc., and the Director of Ambassadors for the Diversity Affairs Council. Outside of academics and leadership, Hailey enjoys going to the gym, doing her nails, thrifting, and exploring new restaurants with friends. After completing UAB's MSHA program, Hailey hopes to use her professional and academic experiences to promote high-quality care and patient experience and challenge inefficiencies in healthcare.
Priya Morgan
Priya is a native of Huntsville, Alabama. She graduated magna cum laude from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Accountancy. During her undergraduate experience, Priya was involved in multiple student organizations, including serving as the External Affairs Coordinator for New Maroon Camp, an ambassador for the College of Business, and as a Roadrunner for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. She completed a summer internship with Huntsville Hospital Health System, where she worked on various projects and expanded her interest in health care. Through the MSHA program, she hopes to broaden her knowledge in health care with a focus in finance, operations, and strategy. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and going on walks with friends.
Dev Patel
Dev Patel is originally from Beaumont, Texas, and attended Texas A&M University for his undergraduate education. During his time at Texas A&M, he gained experience at Houston Methodist Hospital, POEMCF, and Beaumont Emergency Hospital, as well as contributing to grant-funded research focused on equitable access to healthcare.
Outside of professional settings, Dev was involved in organizations including Mays Healthcare Alliance, BAPS Charities, and the Hindu Students Association, where he held leadership positions. After graduating from Texas A&M in December 2024, Dev worked at Aveanna Healthcare before beginning the residential MSHA program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in fall 2025.
Since joining the program, Dev serves as President of the MSHA Golf Classic and currently interns in the Facilities and Real Estate department through the Workforce Program. Following the MSHA program, Dev hopes to pursue opportunities in healthcare administration where he can contribute to improving operations, and expanding access to high-quality care. In his free time, Dev enjoys golf, weightlifting, watching sports, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Camille Thompson
Camille Thompson is originally from Beaumont, Texas. She graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and a minor in economics. While at Texas A&M, she was actively involved in Kappa Delta, Aggie Women in Business, Future Business Leaders of America, Freshmen Leading and Advancing in Service and Honor (FLASH), and Fish Camp, serving as a peer counselor for incoming freshmen. These experiences strengthened her leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. Outside of academics, Camille enjoys playing mahjong, trying new restaurants, and cooking. She values opportunities to explore new experiences with people from her cohort. Following completion of her MSHA, Camille aspires to pursue a leadership role within a pediatric healthcare setting, where she hopes to contribute to improving organizational performance and enhancing patient-centered care.
Keaton Morrison
Keaton Morrison grew up in Dallas, Texas, and South Florida. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama, earning a double major in Finance and Management with a concentration in Health Care Analytics. During her time at Alabama, she served as president of the Health Care Analytics Society while competing in cross country, indoor, and outdoor track for the Crimson Tide. She was grateful to serve as team captain her senior year and be a member of two SEC Championship teams. While always interested in healthcare, her drive to pursue health administration was shaped through an administrative internship at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. It is her mission to serve the hands that heal by supporting providers and improving the systems in which they deliver care. She is grateful to be a member of Class 61 and to serve as the class’s Vice President of Recruitment, working to engage and welcome future MSHA students. In her free time, she enjoys running and road racing, fishing with her family, and trying new recipes.
Ben Campbell
Ben Campbell is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and graduated with honors from Wofford College with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and a minor in Business. During his time there, Ben served as an RA for the Office of Residence Life and organized two philanthropy weeks for the Musicland Gift Foundation and the Spartanburg Soup Kitchen. Ben also completed a summer internship with Chapel Hill Pediatrics and Adolescents where he worked on assessing vaccination clinic effectiveness and areas of improvement. Ben also completed an internship with Spartanburg Medical Center where he handled projects relating to patient experience relating to Labor and Delivery services. Currently, Ben is pursuing the dual track of a Master of Science in Health Administration and Master of Business Administration while working as a System Integration Intern on the UAB acquisition of St. Vincent's. He is also the Vice President of Marketing for the upcoming 17th annual MSHA Golf Classic. Ben enjoys the range system-level administration in healthcare. In his free time, Ben enjoys biking, reading, and watching baseball.
Trace Lackey
Trace Lackey is a dual-degree MSHA and MBA candidate at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is originally from the small town of Sebring, Florida. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Data Analytics from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. During his undergraduate experience, Trace was actively involved in campus leadership and service, serving as President of Heller Service Corps, Vice President of Sigma Chi Fraternity, and Vice President of the Student Alumni Council. Outside of academics, he enjoys staying active through sports, particularly soccer and tennis, and values spending time with his large family. He especially enjoys competing in father-son doubles tennis tournaments with his dad. Following completion of the MSHA program, Trace aspires to pursue a leadership role in healthcare administration, with the long-term goal of reaching a C-suite position. He is passionate about improving healthcare delivery and hopes to support the growth and sustainability of smaller and rural hospitals while positively impacting the communities they serve.
Cedric Church
Cedric Church is from Tuscaloosa, AL. He majored in Healthcare Management at UAB for his undergraduate degree. After graduating, Cedric received experience as a Financial Specialist and Project Specialist at AllerVie Clinical Research. During his free time, Cedric enjoys movies, anime, video games, and being involved at his Church on the weekends. After graduation, Cedric aims to improve patient access and to promote mental health awareness.
Durotimi Adisa
Durotimi Adisa is a current MSHA/MBA dual degree candidate from Atlanta, Georgia. Before his time in Birmingham, he graduated from Mercer University, concentrating in Global Health Studies with a minor in chemistry. During his time at Mercer, he held several leadership roles and was recognized on the President’s List for academic excellence. Additionally, Durotimi served as an ED scribe for six years and was promoted to a team leader role focused on the growth and development of team members. He also volunteered at a low-income clinic in South Atlanta. Durotimi’s ongoing passion for healthcare access inspired him to co-found the Open Doors Initiative, an organization dedicated to raising awareness of underrepresented healthcare careers and offering mentorship to communities with diverse backgrounds. He hopes to carry this passion into his healthcare career, where he aims to drive transformative change within a health system. In his free time, Durotimi enjoys spending time with friends and family, staying acting, reading classic novels, and is an avid Arsenal FC supporter.
Chase Gilbert
Chase was born and raised in the city of Temecula, located in Southern California. Chase is a first generation student and went on to acquire his Bachelor's in Healthcare Administration with a minor in Business Management at Utah Valley University. Chase was a member of the Healthcare Administration club and was named to the Dean's List the last two years of his undergraduate education. Chase also has experience in operations working within a Skilled Nursing Facility, as well as an internship with a Mental Health Facility. Chase enjoys spending his time with his wife and two daughters when not at work or school. He also enjoys playing pickleball and keeping up with international soccer leagues. Chase is passionate about improving patient outcomes through preventative care, and being a servant leader to support frontline staff and colleagues.
Grant Thibodeaux
Grant Thibodeaux grew up in Orlando, Florida and recently graduated magna cum laude from Samford University, where he earned a B.S. in Healthcare Administration with a minor in Health Informatics and Analytics. He was an active member of the Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society, serving as Treasurer, and he is currently an alumni advisory board member for Samford’s Healthcare Administration program. During his undergraduate studies, Grant completed multiple internships with Orlando Health, Encompass Health, and Rehab Select, where he gained experience in strategic planning and operations. These experiences strengthened his passion for healthcare administration and his interest in using strategy and operations to support high-quality, patient-centered care. Through the MSHA/MBA program, Grant plans to leverage his experiences and leadership skills to improve patient experience, enhance quality of care, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing pickleball and golf, and watching sports.
Arya Tamhane
Arya, a Birmingham, AL native, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a minor in chemistry. During her time at UAB, she was active in the Indian Culture Association and tennis club, and served as lead project coordinator for Serve205, a volunteer organization. Although Arya initially planned to pursue medicine, her work as a lab technician in UAB’s infectious diseases lab and as a patient care technician broadened her perspective on healthcare. These experiences gave her valuable clinical insight and highlighted the system gaps affecting both patients and providers. Consequently, she developed a strong interest in clinical operations and in creating meaningful, lasting improvements in healthcare. The MSHA program strengthened this interest by giving her the opportunity to work in UAB’s Center for Patient Flow, where she focuses on projects aimed at improving care coordination, process improvement, and overall hospital efficiency. Outside of academic and professional interests, Arya enjoys coaching and playing tennis, painting, and spending time with her loved ones.
Haileigh Trainer
Haileigh Trainer is a dual Master of Public Health and Master of Science in Health Administration student from Mobile, Alabama. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and Psychology from Tuskegee University, where she demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership, service, and health advocacy. During her time at Tuskegee, Haileigh served as the Chapter Charter President of Big Sister Little Sister, Health Committee Chair for the NAACP, and reactivated and coached the Golden Essence Basketball Dance Team. She also founded and led initiatives such as “His N’ Her Health” and contributed to campus-wide health education through Beyond the Sheets HBCU Initiative.
Outside of her academic and professional commitments, Haileigh enjoys dancing, traveling, shopping, and engaging in community outreach.
Following the completion of her MSHA program, Haileigh aspires to work in healthcare administration and public health policy, focusing on improving healthcare systems, advancing health equity, and reducing disparities in underserved communities. She is particularly passionate about bridging the gap between public health and healthcare delivery by implementing preventative, accessible, and holistic care strategies that create lasting impact.
Samarth Sharma
Samarth Sharma graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minor in Chemistry. He was actively involved within the Honors College and the Indian Cultural Association. Samarth is originally from Nashville, Tennessee and now is a student in the MBA-MSHA Dual Degree program. Outside of academic, Samarth worked in several clinical roles where he developed a particular interest in healthcare operation and process improvement, where he hopes to enhance patient outcomes. His academic and professional experiences have reinforced his commitment to serving underserved communities and addressing disparities in healthcare access. Samarth also enjoys thrifting, exploring new restaurants and traveling. He hopes to pursue a leadership role in healthcare administration after he completes the MSHA program, where he can drive meaningful change for patients.
