Occupational Therapy
The nationally-ranked OT department offers innovative graduate programs for students interested in becoming occupational therapists or those seeking to advance existing occupational therapy careers including a new Clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) program.

Physical Therapy
The nationally-ranked PT department has offered outstanding educational programs in physical therapy for 50 years. They offer a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DTP) program, an interdisciplinary PhD in Rehabilitation Science program and a Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency program.

UAB SHP Research Collaborative
Led by Dr. James Rimmer, the Collaborative is headquartered at the UAB WHARF (Wellness, Health And Research Facility), on the campus of the Lakeshore Foundation. It is home to the National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD). For 25 years, NCHPAD has helped people with disabilities and other chronic health conditions achieve health benefits through increased participation in all types of physical and social activities.

SHP Honors Program
The Honors Program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to experience real world team-based problem solving in community health care. Work with a faculty mentor to identify, research, solve and implement a solution to a problem in partnership with a community health organization.
