3. What should I do if I need to be on campus and in the lab? (March 18, 2020 at 11:30 AM)
When individuals need to be present in the laboratory, best practices for social distancing must be used, including staggering work times, working 6’ apart, and limiting interactions. However, no one should work alone. If that is unavoidable, work when there is someone in an office on the same hall. If someone is not in the lab with you under these extenuating circumstances, you should always let someone know where you are, how long you will be there, and when to expect your return (a virtual buddy system). Rave Guardian (https://www.uab.edu/emergency/rave-guardian) provides a possible solution.

5. I’ve submitted a grant/study that proposes the culturing of COVID-19+ patient tissue samples or work with SARS-CoV-2. Does this require review and approval by the IBC? (April 01, 2020 at 3:24 PM)
Yes. All work at UAB involving culturing of COVID-19+ patient samples or propagation/isolation of SARS-CoV-2 must be conducted at A/BSL3 in the SEBLAB. This work will require review and approval by the IBC prior to initiation. The IBC submission for all COVID-19 work must utilize the SEBLAB Project Registration Form for COVID-19 A/BSL3 work in addition to the standard Project Registration form. The standard form can be found at https://www.uab.edu/ehs/forms-guides-and-signs. Contact
