UAB Creative & Marketing and UAB Periodicals are recognized every time a person drives past a billboard on I-65 or sees a copy of UAB Magazine. But with the CASE III awards program, they get recognition of another kind – the kind that comes with a prize.
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education, Southeastern District, honored UAB Periodicals with three Awards of Excellence, two in general staff writing for articles “The Truth Is Not Out There” and “The Pursuit of Happiness” and one for feature writing for “My Space,” all in UAB Magazine.
Comments on the “My Space” submission included, “Puts a human, personal touch on this issue,” and, “Excellent way to give a feel for what is going on while incorporating stats.” UAB Magazine also received an Award of Excellence and was named a finalist for the Grand Award in the Alumni Magazines II category.
UAB Creative & Marketing won a Special Merit Award for a print advertisement in their recent student recruitment campaign. In 2006 UAB Creative & Marketing and UAB Publications won CASE III awards in illustrations, photography, external tabloids and newsletters, alumni magazines and feature writing.
