BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Students in a University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) political science class will host a panel discussion on ethnic and racial diversity at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12 at Heritage Hall, Room 102, 1401 University Blvd. The event is free and open to the public. The event, "Ethnic and Racial Diversity: Where Do I Fit In at UAB?," will focus on issues concerning diversity and racial and ethnic relations between students on campus.

The guests panelists will include UAB Professor of History Colin Davis, Ph.D., Miss UAB 2010 JaTuane Bosby and Bernadine Layton, a survivor of the 1963 Sixteenth Street Baptist Church bombing.

The students who are hosting the event are enrolled in a political science class taught by UAB Associate Professor of Political Science Angela K. Lewis, Ph.D.

The event is co-sponsored by the UAB Office for Equity and Diversity, UAB African-American Faculty Association, UAB Black Student Awareness Committee, UAB Students for African-American Studies and UAB School of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
