BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - A new scholarship for students at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry has been created by a $35,000 gift from the Alliance of the Alabama Dental Association.

Applicants for the annual, endowed scholarship must be admitted or currently enrolled in a degree-granting program in the UAB School of Dentistry and must be Alabama residents with an undergraduate degree from an in-state institution of higher education. The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees recently approved the endowed scholarship.

Applications for the scholarship should be submitted to the UAB Office of Dental Student Admissions and Records. Call 205-934-3387 for more information.

The alliance recently disbanded. In consultation with the School of Dentistry and the Alabama Dental Association, the former alliance leaders donated remaining funds to UAB in honor of the alliance's decades of service to Alabama and the dental profession.
